I really like it but trying to curb the collection a bit. That said impulse control isn't always my strong suit and knowing the invader camo prints are looming. I don't know

I really liked this and bought one. The symbolism of the dragon for Ai Weiwei - holding power within oneself, articulated in a depersonalised language (lego blocks evoking digital technologies) located in contemporary life was interesting...

I think pixelation is what he was talking about - visually.
I think the power of the message relates more to his Alcatraz show.  The legos were used to depict "prisoners of conscience" while a dragon flew overhead with the phrase "everyone is a potential convict" printed on it.

He was incarcerated at the time.  Now this work "everyone is a dragon" depicted as a lego/pixelated print - is he referring to the freedom and power the dragon has or is he saying even the most powerful are confined and/or prisoners. 

I like art that has the ability to spark discussion and this is that.  Especially given the role that China is playing is global discussions right now.

Set myself an alarm, but missed the deadline ... maybe a good thing because I could have been tempted. Oh well, final numbers will tell whether that was good or a bad thing financially speaking. Good image in any case.


@ AA: the cost of the UV framing option was (one of) the dealbreakers for me, because 600+ Euros on framing is just too much 1. for me 2. in relation to the image and 3. in relation to other framing options
