PP's were done in OxBlood. It's a gorgeous deep maroon... Beautiful color...
Unfortunately, #1/4 of the PP's is now sold. I do have #3/4 PP also though. Same price... Pictures on email request.
Thanks for the interest.

I was meaning are they selling for anything like this on the secondary market? I've said before I've no issue with people selling anything, but at fair market value!

I agree that it's Blek's best print totally and if it is the original pricing on the printers proofs (which I don't doubt) then fair enough... but what puzzles me is why would anyone pay 3.5 times the amount for exactly the same print in the first place?

Blek Le Rat- Los Angeles- Printer's Proof #1!!! , by snakes on May 12, 2008 23:11:58 GMT 1, What happened to the good old days when ap's & pp's were done using different colour combinations to see what worked best other than being just more prints of the numbered run?

Do you not mean trial proofs?

Good Old Days?
The type of prints that you are referring to are traditionally not part of the "sheet run", and are always destroyed...
...unless you are talking about contemporary printmaking where these sheets are set aside and used as part of a marketing ploy to promote the actual edition.
Different animal altogether quite honestly.

Blek Le Rat- Los Angeles- Printer's Proof #1!!! , by Heavyconsumer on May 13, 2008 23:36:29 GMT 1, I was under the impression that printers proofs were exactly that, trial proofs that in some cases used different variants. This is how it's been explained to me previously, by printers.

JSG, there is no need to try and baffle people here with BS, which I feel you are trying to do. You only need to say what you have and what you want! I don't believe for a second that you are selling these at "original pricing" you didn't seem quite so generous or reasonable when it came to the Gold Flags a while ago. I suggest you change tack if you don't want this thread to go the same way as that one did.

Blek Le Rat- Los Angeles- Printer's Proof #1!!! , by Guest on May 14, 2008 8:27:30 GMT 1, Printer's Proofs are taken and marked from the final sheet count of the finished edition in a number agreed upon by the printer and the artist/ artist's rep. Always been that way with any artist or print-house that I've worked with.
If you don't believe that these are original pricing, I urge you to contact Richard Duardo at Modern Multiples, where these were printed.
I'm sorry that you doubt my integrity. I have been in the printing/publishing world for 10 years and have dedicated a great amount of my time towards learning and understanding printmaking in it's traditional and contemporary market driven context.
My actions represent me and my business practice is transparent. Hopefully people are sensible enough to listen, do their research, and make their own decisions. This is a beautiful, rare print, and that's why I've chosen to sell it.
Thanks for the interest.
