IAN FRANCIS ORIGINAL - £2950 fixed price, by user on May 27, 2008 13:50:48 GMT 1, I am on a mission to buy a Parla and so am considering selling the Ian Francis drawing on thick art paper shown below. It was beautifully float mounted by the Gallery I bought it from in the States and measures 25 inches x 25 inches (unframed.)
Given the success of Francis' work at the latest Laz show and his upcoming solo show in September at Kinsey's gallery in LA plus talk of a solo show next year at Laz's, things are looking pretty good for Francis.
I am not 100% sure I am selling it yet, it will depend on a few feeders I have put out for the Parla and whether or not I can get the money together but feel free to PM with offers as I am determined to get a Parla someday soon.
Sorry but absolutely no swaps at the moment.

IAN FRANCIS ORIGINAL - £2950 fixed price, by oneeye on May 27, 2008 17:00:45 GMT 1, Although I'm a huge fan of Francis' vibrant colours, it's nice to see something in black and white. Great piece there. I'm sure this will make somebody very happy.

IAN FRANCIS ORIGINAL - £2950 fixed price, by user on May 27, 2008 22:41:58 GMT 1, Thanks people.
Have been following Mr Francis for a while now and think he is a real talent although whereas people wanted him to get rid of the photoshopped elements in his work I want him to bring them back in more so and get away from the celebrity content.
The original painting of Devouring Bunny is his best work to date in my opinion because it is dark and intriguing but also very different to much else out there (at least what I know of) because it is so layered in parts with sticky back plastic, magazine cut outs, melted plastic etc... I don't like the thought of him being simply another figurative painter but seeing as he had his first ever solo show a matter of months ago, for someone who has literally just started out he shows so a lot of potential imo. Which has obviously been picked up on by Laz - especially considering he was charging quite substantial prices for Francis' work and seemingly he was proved right as they sold, as far as I am aware, at the opening.
Now someone buy my drawing for £15,000 so I can get a Parla you bastards!
Thanks people.

IAN FRANCIS ORIGINAL - £2950 fixed price, by user on May 27, 2008 22:52:54 GMT 1, is this still up for sale?
Yes. A number of people have made offers and others are trying see if they can come up with the money to make an offer. To give you an idea of where it's as (where it's at?!?!? I sound like a f**king All Saint) anyway, the seemingly most solid offer is £3000. You tend to get a lot of "if I swap you 6 prints you don't want and pay in monthly instalments over 2 years can I buy it for my wife?" You can so easily tell who is wanting to buy to flip and who is genuinely interested in the piece. Although seeing as I am essentially flipping the piece, not even having had it a year, to get a Parla I suppose I can't really slabber.
They're all saying "buy it, buy it.... £15,000, £15,000..."

IAN FRANCIS ORIGINAL - £2950 fixed price, by user on May 28, 2008 10:48:00 GMT 1, Thanks again.
Would prefer to ship within the UK and not overseas unless the buyer was willing to cover the costs for shipping it framed. I would rather ship it framed as I don't have another piece of work that size to go into the frame and reckon to have it framed like this would cost a fair bit anyway.
There are 2 people online selling Ian Francis drawings both of which are nothing compared to the one you see above. The one below is a quarter of the size, unframed and nowhere near as good imo. There is a another one elsewhere (can't find it) which is more expensive and again nowhere near as nice as my piece if I do say so myself.
www.liebermangallery.com/index.php?id_page=9&id_artist=84#
Keep the PMs coming as I have had some positive feedback this morning on the Parla front.
thanks

IAN FRANCIS ORIGINAL - £2950 fixed price, by top on May 28, 2008 11:42:50 GMT 1, Hi user..
what is the story with this piece (..title?)
Ian would definitely have one..or both
Maybe..
'two fitties spend a day drinking espresso whilst looking at Nan's rug' hehe!
It is lovely, but I would not even give it a second look walking down the high street! ..but in the flesh..it might be beautiful
I'd straight swap it for a Parla watercolour (6k)

IAN FRANCIS ORIGINAL - £2950 fixed price, by user on May 28, 2008 12:00:06 GMT 1, The grand title is.... get ready for it... it's immense.... you might fall off your chair...
"Jessica!"
Wow! Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
As for the story attached, there are palm tress that look like they're bleeding, a cup of tea/coffee on a table and a weird quilt/patchwork thang. My reading of the piece is that Ian smokes crack at the weekends.
As for fred saying that £15,000 isn't an appropriate figure, that's fair enough we'll try for £22,500 plus VAT for today and for that price I'll hand deliver it by horse and cart.

IAN FRANCIS ORIGINAL - £2950 fixed price, by user on May 29, 2008 11:42:19 GMT 1, I have heard some positive news on the Parla front and so it looks like I will be selling this a few other pieces (no more Francis work) to get the funds together.
Currently the highest offer is £3000, I'm hoping to wrap up this sale by the end of the week.
Postage is free within the UK for what is most likely your last chance to get an Ian Francis original for under twice this price.
thanks

IAN FRANCIS ORIGINAL - £2950 fixed price, by user on Jun 2, 2008 10:29:50 GMT 1, Having said no to several other people's PMs I have just heard this morning that the "buyer" can't pay for nearly 3 weeks which won't work as I need the money asap.
For £2950 (inc P&P within UK) this piece can be yours.
I am not willing to go any lower than that price as I feel that it's fair considering the piece is an original and that Ian's star is rising.
If people are basing the possible purchase of this piece on the fact that Ian's prints don't sell for banksy prices, they're mad in the head - Neate, Micallef, Choe... all their prints are at "poor" rates at the moment yet their ORIGINALS have held their value and increased considerably over the past 12 months i.e. if you want a proper good investment, originals are a much more reliable bet with generally a much bigger return.
First one to offer £2950 gets the piece.
thanks

I can't hold onto it or the Parla will be will gone.
As for the comment above, if I could go back to last year I would have picked up a few of his original canvasses for $800 from Blk Mrkt or maybe the 4 canvasses that were sold by Red Propeller for £500 each. His prices have increased due to his talent and fan base, I am simply selling this at what I believe to be the current market rate - one of his latest works sold for £17,625, yes it was a hell of a lot bigger and on canvas but I'm hardly going to sell this for £800 or something given that his work has increased in price considerably. That's how the art world works, if I could go back 12 months I wouldn't have to sell a load of my collection to be able to afford a Parla.
