GUTTTTEDDDDD!!!!!!
I missed this and have been F5'ing like a maniac for the last hour.
Please, if anyone has one, and is sitting on the fence, I'd love to take it off your hands.
Would consider swaps if you let me know what you're into.

DFace Street Improvement Prints, by ABC on Mar 19, 2008 13:04:04 GMT 1, In fact to grab one from this BRP, you have to be a flipper or to use something illegal as a software, a backdoor.....
Rubbish......With only an Ed of 150 and some being kept for staff etc, the chance of getting one is slim, have a look at the amount of lurkers that read the threads and dont post then times that by xxx amount. Luck of the draw.

DFace Street Improvement Prints, by ABC on Mar 19, 2008 13:07:21 GMT 1, Why the uproar, who ACTUALLY likes these?! Awful. But that's just my opinion ;D
Lol, thats why I'm not bothered, Dface has his core fans and I can sympathise with those who did not get one one, but In my experience of "after release" drips it's all about the money that could have been made but wasn't, harsh but true.

Bro, for a newcomer you certainly moan a lot. Do you plan on giving anything positive to the forum before you make your 10th post??
I don't put everyone here in the same basket. I just said I'm complaining because I can't imagine that it has been too fast. I have succeed to grab the last josh keyes and it was also 150 copies but it last around some hours due to website crashs... I didn't expected that it could be so fast, thaw as I am novice on british artists, I just find that ....Strange.

I just said I'm complaining because I can't imagine that it has been too fast. Do the maths. Lets say people refresh every 5 seconds on average (I think it's probably less) and you have 150 prints it only takes 150x5=750 people to sell the whole thing out in a second. Not a perfect model but you can see why it sells out. If the refresh is quicker it you need less people. So it is already a lottery for popular prints, you have to hit f5 at the right moment.
For what it's worth software is unlikely to help you beyond hitting the Buy key faster because the print still needs to be available and you have to wait for the buy button to appear. The only viable option is guessing what the Buy URL will be and that won't work for some sites like POW which use POST rather than GET.

DFace Street Improvement Prints, by kahuna on Mar 19, 2008 16:55:35 GMT 1, Simple demand exceeds supply situation. Not much BRP can do.
If a multi-billion dollar company with the resources of Ticketmaster cannot resolve online ticket sales to flippers, why does anyone expect BRP to be able to achieve this?
BRP provide excellent customer service and have some nice Matt Small prints (that IMO are much more desirable than this D*Face offering) they will happily sell anyone

DFace Street Improvement Prints, by onemandown72 on Mar 19, 2008 17:15:17 GMT 1, Looks like the usual damned if you do/ damned if you don't. Gallery give a heads up on time of release, allowing all the chance to buy, they sell out quickly (not a surprise given the greed involved in any urban art) and the response is hackers / back door software / etc. if they don't release the time available they still sell out incredibly quickly and even more conspiracy theories abound about who had prioir knowledge. Fair play to the gallery for letting it known when the print was due to be released - and happy fro all those who managed to get one. For those who missed out if you are that desperate for the print I'm sure that it'll be available on the secondary market in the near future. And no I haven't bought one, nor were interested.

Well said. I think that the prints available on BRP are a real indicator of just how many people are into this scene for the money as opposed to the art.

DFace Street Improvement Prints, by shower on Mar 19, 2008 17:45:30 GMT 1, i like the dface street improvement prints but im not going to waste my time refreshing a website all day hoping to get one, as well as spending a grand on getting my hands on all 5, or in this case 300 or 400 on each one off ebay!
i havnt been into this scene for long but when i started buying prints it was all about the popular artists, banksy, dface, faile, eine etc, as it felt like i could get a foot in the door and like the same art as everyone else. they sold out in seconds and it seemed "cool"! im not saying i dont like these artists because i do, i love their work and am lucky to own some of it, but as i have learnt more about street art and this scene i have started to love the smaller less flippable artists too.
i bought both of rene gagnons graffiti soup prints yesterday and that purchase will have given me more pleasure than managing to get a print that sold out in 1second that im not 100% about. i like to have time to think about my purchases as being a student doesnt give me much money to spend. i would rather have the satisfaction of buying a print i know i love rather than one i buy on impulse. i bought the nick walker bristol tma when it was released on his site, it took me a week to decide whether to and i managed to get the last one. i love nicks work but to me 260 was a lot of money and i needed to think it over. since novemeberish time it seems that i am now unable to do this with so many artists and thats why i favour the skills of some smaller artists i apreciate without some t**t buying only to sell on!
i dont think you can fault BRP with this or any other release, demand equals a very quick sell out. its been said that they dont have software on their site to prevent flippers from using software themselves to buy prints. if they could include this like POW apparently do then that would be ace. i have always wanted a banksy and never been able to get one and now it seems i will never be able to buy a dface or add to my nick walkers and my faile print!

I know of one office (not sure how many staff) but after Trolleys release, one of them was boasting of dozens being available at around 6k for b&w signed
And from what i gathered this was just the tip of the iceberg, Micallef, Neate etc, etc. City boys too, greedy cnuts

All I read these days is people whinging, fighting and flipping - I suppose that's what happens whenever money is involved though.

Yes, this particular whinge is pretty baffling as BRP sent out the details to all on the mailing list. Hardly a state secret.
I think the print's rubbish anyway. Either a lot of people were hoping to make a quick buck or a lot of people have bad taste.
