fs/trade/advice - hush i luv my vinyl, by berby on May 31, 2008 1:30:16 GMT 1, i bought my first and only 6 prints late last year - colour trolleys, bullies by todd james, 2d by jamie hewlett and the 3 i luv my vinyl prints. the first 3 were framed very nicely by misterframerman, but i'm a social worker not a banker, it was expensive and i had to save up to get the rest framed. the day i contacted art republic to find out the exact sizes for the hush prints so i could get them done i found out i was going to be a dad for the first time, therefore they're still sitting in the tube under the bed.
and they're going to stay there unless i do something with them. should i
sell them? they rarely come up on ebay so not sure what i should be asking for. i didn't buy them to sell
get cheap frames for them? i can't afford 150 for a frame now. can anyone suggest some cheap frames in london?
trade them for something more appropriate for a childs room? like london police or a murakami?

fs/trade/advice - hush i luv my vinyl, by Heavyconsumer on May 31, 2008 4:33:31 GMT 1, Firstly and most importantly, congratulations on fatherhood. Must be a buzz!
Someone on the forum came up with a great idea recently regarding affordable framing and it may be useful to you. (took me a while to find) banksyforum.proboards82.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=19940 . I remember another member a short while back saying that UV glass from a glazier was very affordable too (not museum I don't think, but probably the other stuff - trueview/clearview whatever it is). Maybe you could buy a frame cheap, buy some decent glass cheap, cut to fit by the glazer and then get it all put together with mounting and backing by a framer, making a large saving.
If you decide to let these go, I reckon there will be takers for cash. I have some child-friendly Lucy M pints if your interested in a trade, but they're probably worth more though, with so few Hush prints around. They aren't my favourites either being honest! I also have no idea at all what your Hush prints are really worth. If you're in need of cash, you might want to stick them on the bay with a 99p start. There are many who would like to have bought the recent releases and missed out, who will be looking on ebay, so it's a good time for that right now with the show and all. Good luck whatever you decide.

you could try somewhere like habitat for the frame, then if the mounts they sell don't fit, pop into a framer as they usually will cut a mount fairly cheaply......
as to trading, i'm not really up on hush pricing. no doubt some would value them more highly than others, but a TLP print swap seems fair.
one thing you will not be able to trade them for is a Murakami litho though!

fs/trade/advice - hush i luv my vinyl, by craigf on May 31, 2008 10:05:59 GMT 1, Firstly congrats on the dad bit ;D
Re framing Ikea or Habitat are both good options.
These prints hung around a long time and are quite different to what Hush is doing these days. I don't think you will get the same demand / price for them as you would anything from Dirty Bomb onwards
They are pretty child / wife / girlfriend friendly so I'd get a few cheap frames and get them on the wall ;D
Piccies of your Mr Frameman pieces would be nice ;D

fs/trade/advice - hush i luv my vinyl, by berby on Jun 1, 2008 19:14:43 GMT 1, thanks for the advice.
following discussions with the old dear (who didn't like them anyway) if it's a boy we'll keep them and if it's a girl we sell them.
saying that, heavyconsumer, what are the lucy m prints?
thanks for the advice.
