Makes me think that a bunch of prints may have been damaged during packing. Grrr.

You'll be fine Irworld, POW are very good with damaged returns, I wouldn't keep it if I were you.

POW has been very cordial about replacing it, although they are still saying that Eine will get to it soon... Praying my morons isn't damaged...really don't want to have to send something else back.

My morons got damaged (pic), by slowmo on Apr 24, 2007 14:11:40 GMT 1, That sort of damage is only caused by people removing the print from the tube (imagine a finger and thumb on paper pulling in a direction that tightens the curl so it wont catch on release). So either people are damaging it themselves on removal or POW had to pull a load out to check them for some reason.

My morons got damaged (pic), by slowmo on Apr 24, 2007 14:30:05 GMT 1, Not really (althought definitely possible), POW prints are all packed without padding and have clearance in them, so a print does not touch the tip of the tube as you put the lid on. I do agree to send them back because they are willing to replace them, just wondering really if people are honest, how many caused the damage themselves?

and what do you gain by purposely damaging the print?

My morons got damaged (pic), by slowmo on Apr 24, 2007 14:51:44 GMT 1, Well, you gain nothing, but the unique thing is that if you damage it yourself, you can blame them and get a new one. As I said on the post above though, I guess they could damage it by doing the squeezing.

I sure that he means accidently damaging it whilst removing it from the tube. no doubt a few will have been damaged that way, i know i have been close a few times.

well that underlies the other problem - very very poor packaging. If they just rolled the prints in oversized kraft paper these issues would pretty much be non existant. The oversized paper would serve as buffers to the the edges as well as a "grip" to pull the print out smoothly.

My morons got damaged (pic), by Run Pig Run on Apr 24, 2007 18:46:38 GMT 1, get another person at the other end of the tube and turn both the unside corners at the same time, it soon loosens it and you can begin to get it out.
two tips:
1: take the endcaps off first they are often a bit dirty or dusty then wash your hands or wear gloves.
2: make sure before you pull it out (the print not your willy) that the tube isn't dented inwards at the end - it could get caught and fuck it.

My morons got damaged (pic), by sammyman on Apr 24, 2007 19:02:46 GMT 1, Most of these prints are damaged on the same spot. The inside corner by the POW stamp. I doubt very much that people are damaging them, but that this is a bad packaging job. Otherwise, the damage would most likely be on the outside edge as it gets caught coming out.

hahaha correct the only way to do it!
the only problem is the more frisky spear-chucking the step you take and the print pops out you think 'wow that really worked' and then you quickly check to see that there is no damage

My morons got damaged (pic), by dwight on Apr 25, 2007 1:06:00 GMT 1, I think that they get damged on the corner like this... -the print isn't rolled straight which leaves corners exposed sticking out further -when the print shifts from end to end (because pow doesn't bother to put any padding on the ends), it hits that corner on the inside endcap and bends.

My morons got damaged (pic), by Tyler Durden on Apr 25, 2007 13:23:48 GMT 1, Tried the patented spear chucking technique to get the Kwan prints out the tube. Gave up and eventually twisted the print out the opposite way to the way it was rolled. Packed in tighter than the commuter train in rush hour, but now flattened out and looking great.

My morons got damaged (pic), by dwight on Apr 26, 2007 0:51:45 GMT 1, A friend of mine got his morons today and the print alignment is piss poor. The numbers are only about half green where they should be because they were misaligned when it was printed. I suggested he send it back...I know that I would. Anybody else had this happen? It was so bad that it actually made the print look like a mess-up that should have been thrown out...
