Help wanted (please), by elvisrbirmingham on Jun 13, 2008 16:03:58 GMT 1, I am looking at reluctantly having to sell a Banksy print to help pay off a tax bill. The print in question is 'laugh now but one day we'll be in charge' screen-print. Limited edition 167 of 600. Purchased from Santa's Ghetto Carnaby Street 2003 and authenticated by Pictures on Walls. Approx w55cm x h75cm, It has been framed and is in immaculate condition. 1. How much would something like this typically sell for? 2. What is the best way to go about selling - ebay, or thorugh a seller? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

ebay + paypal will cost you about 5-8% of overall sale cost in fees, but the benefit i that you may get a higher price ( maybe )
auction sab site may be useful, but be prepared for time wasters and excuses to cancel an agreed deal
this fourm is better, but there is still a degree of dreamers and they hate me becsue I tell the truth.
dont PX it for a Micallef of any kind, they are one step away from toilet paper at the minute

Help wanted (please), by dotdot on Jun 13, 2008 18:31:33 GMT 1, First off take your time.
You need the cash right ? ok still ... don't rush.
Do you have an account on ebay ?
You could sell it there - state you wish bank transfer then avoid paypal fees outright. bank transfer is pretty safe. (rules out folks from overseas .. though).
check out paypal calc for info on what you'd pay if you sold using that method.
failing that you could sell it here ? though on that front you will unfort be bombarded from all angles - ... perhaps not quite what you'd wish.
not everyone here is who they say they are - you're new so don't be taken advantage of !
good luck.

Help wanted (please), by slowmo on Jun 14, 2008 11:32:05 GMT 1, sorry if that came across unconstructive. Measure it up exactly, if I saw an old banksy listed with a newer banksy size against it, I would not think it was real is all. I would list with a buy it now and seller does not need to pay until they have checked provenance with POW. Good luck with the sale.
Alternatively, try some of the galleries, they may have people asking them to look out for one, but I have no idea how much of a slice they would take.

Sorry, but the transfer info is incorrect: I am overseas in one country, my bank is overseas in another country and I very often pay for prints (on ebay and on here) by bank transfer.
Going rate for this print has been around ยฃ3k, but Banksy prices are lower than they have been in recent months and there is a chance it could end lower than that, as some have mentioned, probably anywhere between ยฃ2k-ยฃ3k.
IMO the best way to list on ebay is at a 99p start to generate attention. If you're gonna accept Paypal, only send it out to a Paypal confirmed address (and state this clearly in the listing).
I would strongly recommend getting paid by bank transfer is at all possible, because fees are negligable and it is irreversable once the cash hits your account. Plus it's pretty quick, usually less than 2 working days worldwide.

Help wanted (please), by pw on Jun 15, 2008 1:28:28 GMT 1, one recently sold on ebay for $7,500 (ยฃ3,850) and it was located in the USA which i would have thought would adversely effect the price. therefore i would certainly not sell for anything less than ยฃ3k. if you put it on ebay it might go for alot more. alternatively hold onto it for a while as prices will probably pick up again.
