Hi, thanks for answering the query anyway, I appreciate it. I'm in Brazil and it seems that many companies won't insure art in transit to here, including many of the specialist art shipping companies I've contacted. The real killer though is that with 60% import tax on almost anything (including shipping costs) there is a massive incentive to have art insured seperatly from the shipping firm and declare it's value as negligable! Looks like I just have to stick to plan A (smuggling tubes in suitcases and not buying framed pieces).
