I have viewed a number of these Nick Walker canvases where it can be seen quite clearly that additional spray has been added at the bottom of the letters to create the drip effect.
In other words, the drips do not appear naturally from just an excess of paint used for the letters. They have been specifically added on afterwards, simply for effect.
My questions: Why bother? So that the overall image appears more "street"?
This just seems desperate and completely contrived. Perhaps Walker should throw coffee or tea onto his canvases. Maybe stick on some duct tape and also burn the edges. Now that would be proper "urban", wouldn't it?
