Looking To Buy Parlas, by pimp on Jul 8, 2008 10:11:07 GMT 1, i am trying to remember back to the Parla show at Elms, i couldn't say 100% what they sold them for then
although i was offered a large one, framed in the gorgeous JJ dark wood frame, from that show, for £5.5k (a few months after it ended)
i passed, but i would imagine you could stick an extra 3k onto that now, for a good, large watercolour.

Looking To Buy Parlas, by Heavyconsumer on Jul 8, 2008 10:27:45 GMT 1, I do like the Pirate's Alphabet prints, but of course they don't hold a candle to the watercolours - they're flat by comparison, but they're still a nice example of Parla's style of calligraphy. For the price the flippers are mostly asking, Pimp's certainly on the money, if that's an option. Too steep for me these days though, which is why I'd settle for the "PA" print at the right price instead. I reckon £8k+ for a nice large watercolour sounds right too, if you can find a seller. There was one up on here recently.

Looking To Buy Parlas, by covertshadowops on Jul 8, 2008 11:30:54 GMT 1, i would say if the hangup gallery selling that bizenyaki pottery doughnut piece for £10K then a watercolour is gotta be upto £10K aswell surely?
that guy on expressobeans told me his price for PA print was $15,000!!!!!!
most people wont sell a watercolour or a parla until the elms show tho i would reckon. so they can 1, find out what elms are gonna sell their watercolours for and 2 i they all sell out... which i think they will.

Looking To Buy Parlas, by andyctree on Jul 8, 2008 14:14:34 GMT 1, purchase any parla you can get because your opportunity will pass if you don't.
"holding out" for a watercolor will leave you with nothing because you aren't going to get close to purchasing one.

Not the best advise there, is it? So it basicaly could be the crap signed by Parla and still you would advise to buy it... Buy what you like for fuck sake ( well that's my advise)

Looking To Buy Parlas, by robotoil on Jul 8, 2008 16:55:54 GMT 1, Hey, Pirate Alphabet isn't the glory of a watercolor by any stretch of the imagination, but to call it flat is just being harsh. Oh yeah, you can buy mine for only 14K. ;D Click on the picture to enlarge it. You might have to click it 2x to get the full size.

Looking To Buy Parlas, by Heavyconsumer on Jul 8, 2008 17:39:58 GMT 1, It's great to see one framed Robotoil. I was left with a very bitter taste in my mouth after being offered a half dozen of these by Dellboy types looking for nothing other than a quick and confidential profit! I wish you much, long-lived enjoyment!

Actually the print is pretty sweet. Yeah, if you've got a chance to get a watercolor don't even think twice about the print. The problem is getting the opportunity

I've love an original or a watercolor. Do you have one to sell me at a reasonable price? Though, it would have to be a stellar one. I've seen a few misses too.
I wonder how it feels to blindly plop down 15k for a watercolor and then get back something that doesn't speak to you? Could you send it back to the artist to do another?

Why send it back to the artist when you can re-sell it for 16K? : )

Looking To Buy Parlas, by oneeye on Jul 9, 2008 7:06:03 GMT 1, I don't think Parla is sending out any watercolors anytime soon.
If so, please send them my way. I'm dying for one. Would gladly pay 16K.
