MICALLEF - GOD I WANT TO BE BAD (GIWTBB), by jonpud on Jul 28, 2008 11:21:23 GMT 1, This print is gorgeous, I am amazed at the damage Laz has done to a talented artist like Micallef!! Sadly mine is in a tube as I don't have enough wall space, but as soon as I do it will be up there!

I agree Pud. This print is superb. The damage Laz did wont last and Micallef will continue to produce great work. Whether we get anymore prints because of it is a different matter. However I am hopeing I can scoop up a few more bits before he is the flavour of the month again.
Also make wall space and get it up!

If an agent acted in anything other than the best interest of one of his represented artists and without the full concent of the artist in question, I find it hard to believe that the artist would still be on the books of the agent in question. What did Laz do to damage the career of Micallef?

Guessing you weren't in the queue for the last print release!

What did Laz do to damage the career of Micallef? Guessing you weren't in the queue for the last print release! again, forgive my ignorance, but I find it hard to understand how a queue to buy an artists prints can damage his career and then be used as a reason to blame his managment. As you rightly guessed, I was not in the queue, but am guessing that it was possibly the greed shown by those in the queue and their percieved ability to make a fast buck that might have been more of a limiting factor than the prints being sold in the first place. The quality of the artsist work has not diminished in any way and from that I fail to see how his career has been damaged, the return profit seen by those interested more in cash than art has dropped to a more reasonable level, so in effect, as the art is the same, the prices from source were reasonable ( at the time of sale) and the only real thing that has dropped is the secondary market value, Laz didnt damage Micallef's career, only the investors profit margin. As I said, forgive my ignorance.
