Laugh Now for sale, by pfffffffffft on Aug 16, 2008 13:35:37 GMT 1, 13.5K GBP.. isn't that a bit overpriced?
Last one sold at Bonhams in april for 10,800 GBP not including buyers premium. Tack on 20% buyers premium and that brings it up another 2,160 GBP, so just for fun lets round that to 13 GBP.
So if you're Bonhams it's a bit overpriced. If you're Hoody art it's def overpriced...

Laugh Now for sale, by Ged on Aug 16, 2008 20:44:14 GMT 1, As they offer a 'selling service' the prices may be dictated by the owner, not Hoody Art, but if they're adding their 10% commission on top, that won't be helping.

Laugh Now for sale, by weaver on Aug 16, 2008 21:42:15 GMT 1, ..what with all the snides knocking about one would hope it has been 'pest controlled' for that sort of wedge being asked! not sure the phrase ALL THE SNIDES is a good idea snakes, there have been a couple of forgeries, but its hardly the epidemic hinted at in your post, but then again as you say, its probably a good course of action to get older prints checked out prior to sale. One thing I am a bit nervous about is the degree of scaremongering going on regarding COAs and prints etc.. I was lucky enough to buy a few prints from POW before the scene went ballistic, I am the registered owner and buyer of these prints, will my original POW receipts / confirmations be enough or will it become a 2 tiered system where all legitimate sales must be accompanied by a COA, and any print that hasnt been certified, even though it comes with full prov, deemed sub-standard.

Laugh Now for sale, by daz205 on Aug 16, 2008 21:54:44 GMT 1, will pest control not authenticate a print for free if your the original registered owner of the print ?
imo they should do or at least offer a good discount seeing as its them that moved the goal posts for prov

It'd be nice if they did offer a discount to verify original ownership, but they are a business, so who knows, at £59 a pop, the COA costs almost as much as the print did originally. Each time a print is bought or sold, will it have to be re-authenticated, as the name of the registered owner has changed? I have a feeling things might be getting pricey for those who buy and sell alot.

Laugh Now for sale, by thesewalls on Aug 17, 2008 8:33:27 GMT 1, the art looses a lot of it's appeal with all this involved. more about the material than the image. an understandable necessity to some degree, but the line between art and capitalistic machine gets blurrier and blurrier every day. wonder when POW is going to start using safeguards similar to government manufactured money?...(as opposed to NON-government manufactured money, yes ). wait a minute, a BANKSY print basically is non-government manufactured money, and that asshole charges people a lot for authentications. the biggest hypocrite is always the best disguised. i don't really know what that means...

I am sure they are the same thing. When you complete the POW authentification application you go through a Pest Control web page.

That's my understanding as well. It's exactly the same authentication form on the POW site and the Pest control one.
