Seems a lot of folk above have wheeling and dealing going on with good communication all down the line so it would appear to work extremely well when the members participate to the full.
As for myself I've only made a few enquiries (regarding provenance) withrespect to one print I saw on there a while ago however it never came to a deal as the selling party (a) didn't get back to respond to my request for nearly two weeks (by which time I'd lost interest anyway) and (b) I wasn't particularly convinced by the answer I got in any case.
This cannot however be chalked up as a fault with Auction Sab, but with the lack of active participation of this one particular member.

I've found the site to be fine. The purpose of the site is fairly straightforward. It allows people to buy and sell art. They do so through a private agreement. If your vendor hasn't been in touch, then that isn't the fault of the site, the site just facilitated conditions for your transaction. A service that is provided free of charge incidently. Go easy on it, it's early days.

I've got to know the people that I've sold to, have agreed reasonable prices and both buyers and myself as seller have been very satisfied. Yes it's in its infancy, but it's a very good facility to buy and sell art and a refreshing alternative to ebay with the obvious benefit of no ebay fees. Stick with it dirtysanchez, it's a shame you've had a bad experience.

FPR, is there anyway that a buyer can get in touch with the seller. The product no longer features on AS and it is bought, but without the contact details, I cannot make payment or get sellers details to communicate with. Plus seller is non responsive fankoo
Yes, of course. All buyers and sellers can message each other in the site.
If you wanted to pick up a stop and search for £1700 you would click on the print and you can see this...
then you click on the name of the buyer if you want to contact them and you will see this...
Then you click 'send message'.
I will try to make the send message more obvious in April. Possibly i shall give the buyer the option to 'buy', 'haggle' or 'send message' instead of just buy. Hope that helps.
Just so you know. This is not the front end of an online gallery. I'm just a charity worker that comes up with crazy ideas. I shall be selling some t-shirts and to try to keep the site going and I only have one item ofrom my own very small collection for sale. Also some artist firends will be bringing out artist manageed exclusive releases on the site shortly but up to 95% of the profit will remain with the artist.
Gallerys can use the site but currently are restricted to having the same account as any one else.

Hey dude. I would imagine its a seller thats seen the increase in price since bonhams and no longer wants to sell the piece. What is it out of interest? Consider leaving some poor feedback or waiting a little longer and sending another message . It is possible the seller has gone off on holiday or is ill/ dead or just plain slow I guess.
