How does he make his posters?, by woozie on Sept 21, 2008 19:46:46 GMT 1, Hello all, first post on this forum.
I've been studying Fairey lately (I have a sort of love/hate relationship with him) and I've been wondering - how the hell does he make all those posters? I guess you could extend the question to wheatpaste posters from any street artist really.
The question has two parts:
1. How does he make his actual designs (I know he rips off images from other sources, but how does he edit them? I'm assuming it's a photo - editing or design program of some sort, but does anyone have any idea what exactly it might be and what you have to do to produce the 'propaganda' effect?')?
2. How does he print the images, as in: what printers can you go to that can produce a poster the size of a wall (or several hundred of a smaller poster) and how would he have afforded it before becoming famous? (All that ink must be expensive, right?)
Sorry if the question seems a bit stupid, but I've searched and searched and for the life of me I can't find the answer. Any ideas?
