They parted ways a long time ago. Shepard stopped pulling his own screensprints part way through 2000, I believe it is.

Oh, so who does the actual printing? Does Mr Fairey sign them himself or have someone do it for him?

Fairey signs everything himself. Numbering is done by an assistant.
Fairey's large-format prints are done by Modern Multiples, the same place that did the LA Banksy prints(IMO, the superior ones).
I don't remember who does his regular prints, and I think I remember reading that the Ali prints were done by a different shop as well.

The only thing done by his hand that touches the print and the image is his signature and possibly some special sauce for a lucky few?

This is all very disappointing to hear.
To answer your question, just off the top of my head:
Robert Rauschenberg. Chuck Close, Ed Rushca, Ellsworth Kelly, Faile, Frank Kozik, Jay Ryan
I know what you are going to say next..."Well Shepard Fairey is way bigger than any of those blokes".

Finally the first GOOD Obey print of 08, by mose on Jul 18, 2008 21:57:32 GMT 1, Francis, the examples you gave do not really apply to what the poster was saying. Plenty of 'big' artists pull a screen here and there. No one putting out anywhere near the volume that Fairey does print-wise could possibly do so.
I mean, Christopher Wool pulls screens all the time for his 1-off originals. He wouldn't be if he was doing 300-450 runs every other week at an average of 2 colors per.

I dont know the details on all those artists but Kozik has most of his stuff done by Andy at Diesel Fuel Prints, last I heard. The point here is that you can get hand done work by Shepard, its just not the $35 stuff. With street artists charging what they are these days its incredible someone is complaining about a $35 signed and numbered print, from one of the legends that has been doing this for 15 years, taboot..

How are his policies really different? Its clearer and clearer each passing day... ie Patriot act / health care / nuclear / strike first....
WTF does that mean? His mum's white! Christ!

Please explain how Chuck Close pulls his own screens. All 120 sometimes. He may have in the past, but the guy is in a wheel chair, which I am sure would make it pretty difficult. You think all of these big artists have time to pull their own screens? its the only thing they do? Be realistic.
