Picture the scene: I want to buy a Banksy on ebay. They say they have provenance, I'd like to check, ask them for the buyers name / print number, email Dora, get an answer, sorted. Not difficult, not complicated. If it was a top end print and I was paying a hell of a lot I may ask for the PC/POW COA - if the seller is selling for £10k (for example) he should provide it. If it's a lower priced print what's wrong with the above?
cool, good luck spending all the cash on prints with no proof. There is alot floating around and if you have bought one recently just get that prov sorted now...
plus i would not call less than 10k a lower price.

Can you imagine if a print exchanged hands 4 - 5 times without a COA, POW wont be able to inform the buyer who the original or current seller is. I also believe it should be the responsibility of the seller to provide such documentation, irrespective to the value of the print - the £50 cost is in a lot of respect, a small amount in comparison to the profits made.
The more that is documented, the less chance of buying a fake.

I emailed dora about something last week and was told to fill out a form by the way so in answer to that question about just emailing for prov - thats not possible anymore, it has to go through the right channels to be official.

Sent an email asking to confirm a name on the hewlett kid i bought from ebay and its all above board - just wanted to check the details out and change ownership, but was told to fill a form out or nothing.
so i guess so... even for things that are not banksy.

If your application for authentication is successful, POW will contact you and a payment of £50 + vat will be requested. You will then be issued a certificate of authenticity for each print.
