adam neate for trade, by Heavyconsumer on Nov 8, 2008 19:09:15 GMT 1, No offense Graeme, but when trading art for art, if you're giving up something you don't want in exchange for something else you do, isn't that enough? If you get the Mic' or Choe tryptich, why are you so sure you are due anything in addition? I think that's a bit presumptuous, especially with Neate prints finishing so low on ebay at the moment (and apparently dropping). In this case, the prices are all pretty close. If anything, I'd say the mic' is worth marginally more than the Neate and the Choes roughly the same value.

adam neate for trade, by veralynn on Nov 8, 2008 20:03:50 GMT 1, Agree with Graeme, whilst Neate prices on the bay are dropping its pretty hard to see the wood from the trees here - whilst I dont doubt the authenticity of the piece that's for sale at present where someone only has a copy of the original invoice as thats been lost how the fcuk do you end up with a copy of an invoice that's been lost? Answers on a postcard?
It's a relative value/uplift equation that people make here not mark to market, I think that you'd need to 'give up' on both sides to enable a trade. Graeme wants to swap, but hang on, so does the other guy......am I naive to think that the Cold War should still realise say ยฃ900?
Come on and Queens were always the runt of this particular litter and the prices reflect that, can you get WSP/RSP for a discount? No.

adam neate for trade, by graeme501 on Nov 8, 2008 20:31:09 GMT 1, did one really go for that low? that must have been a while ago, because i havent seen one up for a while
if thats the market price ill just keep it, the only reason i was swapping is that i picked up an original so was aiming for something different, but i'll just hold onto it and get it framed

adam neate for trade, by Deleted on Nov 8, 2008 20:56:29 GMT 1, i'm not getting at you with this at all, but sometimes you've just got to accept the going rate and sometimes your lucky and someone will pay a bit more. i know you paid ยฃ1500 for your Cold War but as you mentioned prices have dropped considerably, not just on Neates on most things. i offered you about ยฃ50 more than the last one went for on ebay ages ago (the first time you tried to sell it) and you within your rights refused. however my offer was nearly double what the last one went for on ebay recently. Not really sure what my point is, i guess sometimes you've just got to accept a loss and move on.

adam neate for trade, by Heavyconsumer on Nov 8, 2008 21:29:09 GMT 1, I would think that a seller would have to take that type of price for a Cold War Continues at the moment G. Even some of the prints that WERE selling for a bit more, such as Bigger Picture, Deep End and Calm Fear have ALL sold or been offered recently for below a grand and imo and that of many others judging by earlier sale prices, your print was less desirable than these.
Def' a buyer's market at the moment imo.

adam neate for trade, by Heavyconsumer on Nov 8, 2008 21:46:58 GMT 1, good on you. its a beauty. i've only seen one in the flesh and its stunning.
Agreed, I think all the Neate prints are pretty lovely and one or two are exceptionally good. Especially for people who bought these, whether at source or afterwards, they must be worth keeping for their awsome quality (both in terms of images and printing), after paying big bucks for them.

adam neate for trade, by veralynn on Nov 9, 2008 8:34:00 GMT 1, I've never been totally convinced about the prices of some of these Neate prints, they're so easy to copy. How do you know if the one you're buying is pucker? Is there some kind of external authentication process?

Think about how much Neate prints were going before the recession
Good luck anyway

I don't really see the worth in prints, I do them for promo, but that's it... and mine are about 60 quid which barely covers ink, paper, packaging and postage costs. interesting tho, i remember when adam neate was giving his stuff away.
