NYC Faile on Ebay - No Reserve, by thetruth55 on Dec 15, 2008 0:01:05 GMT 1, ^ was just thinking the same myself. surely you wouldn't expect Faile and Laz to allow the price of prints to drop just because of the struggling economy. or would you? have any big-name artists ever re-inspected the current state of the market and set their price points differently? for example, a lot of the lower edition prints (i.e. editions of 16) were around $2000 in the last FairQ. will we see them stay the same, or drop. Laz has control of most of the Faile market, and they don't seem like the type to drop prices to accommodate others. they are a money-making machine! so if the prices stay the same, what would this mean? more of a chance for true collectors because less people would be entering the FairQ soley on the basis of flipping? will prints just go unsold for a while - no more instant sell-outs at these prices (if say, Paper Monster releases more from their site)? what do you all think?

i think the first thing to go will be the amount of work released, like OPEC when the price of oil falls they just cut supply, i think if the do anything it will be to cut supply.

NYC Faile on Ebay - No Reserve, by thetruth55 on Dec 15, 2008 7:55:04 GMT 1, ^topboy, good analogy. i like it. i agree..that could definitely be a way for Faile (among other artists) to control their market. whatever happens, it should definitely be interesting to see how things transpire.
