BANKSY AND D*FACE SIGNS, by Heavyconsumer on Mar 20, 2008 15:16:48 GMT 1, I don't believe these are all genuine, if any of them are. The stencilling looks pretty poor to me. That aside, who would want a bloody old, rusty eyesore of a streetsign in their living-room?
Besides this thread should be in the other area with the other one relatie to the same auction.

BANKSY AND D*FACE SIGNS, by artvanderlay on Mar 23, 2008 2:05:11 GMT 1, almost 10,000 american dollars for a sign that certain people on our forum said were fake - I guess some collectors out there might know better than those with possibly an agenda -

Maybe, you never know when people may have hidden agendas, but even if these were legit, what a bloody eyesore! To be fair the stencilling looked scrappy and could very easily have been homemade and there was no provenance on offer. Anyone clued up enough to take these signs off the street over the past 5 years, would also be clued up enough to know that there are/will be ways to go about getting street pieces authenticated. And please, be honest, these little stencils have caused a council-employed street sign recycling/scrapping attendant to like them enough to take them home??? Please what are the odds on that being truth? At the very least, can anyone find a convincing argument that the story on offer is more probable than this being a profitable con' for an opportunist? Good luck to the guy, I honestly believe that if people are stupid enough to lose it like that then they deserve to! To be fair, for whoever has just paid this price, one would imagine it's not a significant sum to lose on a gamble anyway.
