Miss Bugs 5th June Brighton, by felix on Jun 4, 2008 20:41:15 GMT 1, £200,000 - Cashing in BIG TIME. Good luck to Miss Bugs and Ink-D, but personally I think this is ridiculous for an artist that started about a year ago.

Miss Bugs 5th June Brighton, by Heavyconsumer on Jun 4, 2008 20:46:31 GMT 1, Just got the pricelist and the originals are pretty pricey for the most part. The pieces I most like are more than I can handle at £3950. There are a couple that are more expensive (collaberations with Joe Black) and there are a couple on chipboard at £2200 a piece. There are also 2 editions of 2 canvases at £1500(Dumbo or Bambie - in style of the recent Dumbo print) as well as a few cheaper items (silkscreen dyptich on aluminium £1100 the pair in an edition of 5 and He-man/Skeletor 3D images sprayed on paper editions of 5 each at £350 each come with 3D glasses). Canvases are mostly 120 by 90 although some are a little smaller as are the chipboard pieces.
Godzilla Monster of Spin is my favourite, but not gonna happen at £3950.

Looks like an amazing show from the preview.
Might try for one of the chipboard pieces, if not I'm going for the aluminum or he-man prints!

I love the "Monster Of Spin" series and I also like the Hurst all over my body. Sadly the MOS series are out of my budget. Odds of getting the 1st choice are very remote anyway though and to be honest I don't think I'm happy dropping £2.2k on a piece I like rather than love!
I wish I was into the cheaper pieces - I think the He-man Skeletor theme was classic in the street, but I'm not convinced I'd enjoy these 3D pieces at all and actually think (from the poor photos) that they look kind of tacky). The dyptich on aluminium is not doing it for me, nor are the eye-test pieces. It's a shame as I'd have loved to pick something up
I'm very interested to see the print images though and hoping they may send those out before they release them.

Miss Bugs 5th June Brighton, by bonesy on Jun 4, 2008 23:21:32 GMT 1,
I received the email preview as well (sorry not sharing the images) and wish there were better pics of everything but particularly the less expensive ones as I think I may be interested but its kind of hard to tell......
I spoke with the gallery and the edition of 50 prints are only available to those lining up.

Miss Bugs 5th June Brighton, by bored with screen names on Jun 5, 2008 14:35:28 GMT 1, Seem very expensive to me. Dan baldwin had a show at Inkd a while back...
It WAS very expensive, but I'm a fan of Bugs and I debated a lot yesterday whether I thought it was too much to own something unique from them or not. Ended up deciding that I thought it was worth it. Good on those that don't think they are. That's less fighting for me to try to continue to buy their work.
In the end I won and lost. Won because I didn't end up spending what I probably shouldn't have been spending anyway but still got something NEARLY unique, but lost because I didn't get the two pieces I truly wanted.

Miss Bugs 5th June Brighton, by Heavyconsumer on Jun 5, 2008 14:37:46 GMT 1, It is unquestionably axpensive. Candice Tripp just released some lovely canvases for around £1100 on her site, Copyright canvases started at around the same amount at the recent show I believe. Both artists have been around a while and are well established by comparison. I think these prices are OTT. To be honest it doesn't effect me! If the work was more "reasonably priced", I would have got a piece I like, but £4000 is simply more than I can spend.

4000 is simply a joke gallery is trying to get them to run before they have even learned to walk

Miss Bugs 5th June Brighton, by Heavyconsumer on Jun 5, 2008 15:02:19 GMT 1, It wouldn't have been so bad, if they'd even bothered to answer the phone at the time when they told buyers to call. I wanted to enquire about a cheaper piece and the availability of prints, but they just let the phone ring. Quite a shame really. Why bother to set up a service for overseas buyers and not bother to deliver it?

To be fair they've always stated they only had one phone line. I was shocked I got through when I did to be honest.

Miss Bugs 5th June Brighton, by bonesy on Jun 5, 2008 15:07:47 GMT 1, I was up half the night contemplating the Aluminum Elvis's but ultimately passed. Figured it would have probably been $2500 once shipping was paid for. Too much when I still dont have a full feeling of the piece. Im sure its great in person (Bugs has never disappointed before) but the pictures didnt give me a very good feel.
With the he-man & skeletors the pictures provided are framed with paint drips. Im guessing these prints for sale have a different feel as well, Im assuming they dont come framed with the added hand paint.
