You can pick some of the NYC faile prints (with editions of less than 20) for around that on the bay. Momento Mori struggles to hit cost, even strange encounters rarely exceeds ยฃ400.
If I really like the image I will pick one of these up from the bay at less than cost in a couple of weeks time. Won't have all the overseas shipping hassles either.

1. If it's too expensive for you , don't buy.
2. The money is going directly to the printers / website / artist. This acting as a disincentive to profiteers to buy as there is far less profit to be made, and ultimately gives collectors and fans a far better chance to buy.
3. Faile, like many other street artists have been around for years, and have been putting out affordable work for at least the last 5 years. Only now is there this ridiculous clamour for anything they put out - I would suggest that this is a great lesson in buying what you like when you see it. That way all the real fans of the artists will always have a chance to own something by them, rather than watch their star ascend without ever buying anything to support said artist, and then get the hump when they become succesful and so appeal to a wider audience.
I think this is all power to Faile, is helping bring more interest to a newer print operation in New York - How many people had heard of Paper Monater prior to this post, I for one hadn't and so was introduced to some new prints, if not new artists.

Think im going to pass by on this print. Havenโt seen any pictures of it yet and think Iโd rather hold out for a pow la print or save some more and get an entry level banksy (around ยฃ1000).

I agree! I love Faile, but I think ill wait for the next LA and if im unlucky with a new Banksy, I should be able to pick up an unsigned on the bay a few days after for 600 squids before they rise to god knows what! Always happens, prob always will.

The clamour for new prints by Faile (Banksy, Dface, etc) has reached a point where I can't be bothered to buy something I've not even decided on just so that I don't miss out. In my opinion prints (and originals of course) are bought because you want them on the wall to look at, not just so you can say you own one. I can't decide in a fraction of a second whether I want something as part of my collection or not. It seems too many people are buying to flip a quick buck and they aren't getting rich on my back. I bought stuff by these artists when it was less fashionable and more available, so I am going to carry on with the same theory and carry on buying pieces I like by lesser known artists. There is some great stuff out there still, you just have to keep looking and not follow the crowd.

I personally think any new image should be put on the sites long before they go up for sale, so everyone can have a good look at it and make up thier minds beforehand. The other thing I'd do is drip the images onto sites, rather than putting the entire edition of (for instance) 50 up at once, drip it on in five and tens over a few weeks.

Totally agree with all the Santa's Ghetto comment, but the image itself is not a favourite. Maybe it's because I always associate it with the Ghost Rider comic, which was one of the few Marvels I never got into as a kid !
