some of the faile prints from the latest release are being offered at cost, and this is an edition of 315, the ed. of 165 is below cost, so i dont see why these wont go there aswell

Then again, they took so long to sell ( a couple of days in this market) maybe more fans than usual got the chance to get one, either way nice one to those who bought, and if those looking get the chance to grab one at close to cost, I'd highly recomend, as its a peach. I've had a few failes over the last couple of years and this is definately one of the nicest.

its simple really. people claiming "these will soon be under cost" are the ones who didn't get one, now wish they had but want/need to drive the price down.

people, like myself, bought straight away for the wall as i thought it was fairly priced and great quality. i think most went to fans as they hardly flew out the door...

I didn't want to show lots of pics because it spoils the surprise when you open it but here is the blind stamp.



One of my favourite bits is the red runs in the lettering. I think they over-inked it and the excess ink forms a gloss border to the red where it was squeezed out.



There are more details hidden in the print, they have put a lot of work into this.

I'm not sure anyone is going to make money flipping this but I'm also not sure the price will drop much. There will be a few buyers and a few flippers so I think it will be a wash. Edition size isn't everything - I have absolutely no interest in the edition of 165 but I bought this one straight away. Over time I think this is will prove to be more desirable - the Tate link plus it's just a great image.

My feeling is that there are only so many colourways you do an image in and Faile are past that point with a lot of their work. They really need to move on and this could be the start of it. There is a evolution from the old structure but with a new printing technique and different imagery. Personally I prefer it to the old Faile but these things are highly subjective.

The 1986 comemorates the NASA Challenger disaster ( the year it happened was 1986), which affected the members of faile significantly.

i think my house is the end of my postmans route so i sit at my computer and jump everytime i see a van drive past. its always bl00dy builders though...

dont do white dude to pale put the print on a white towel or sheet you will see
talk to a framer first not sure yet to go for a float or border which is different for faile prints

I don't have one of these and haven't seen it up close, but I think black or dark grey mount and frame. I sincerely hope that some of you knowledgable chaps are right. If I have the cash, I'd be tempted to pick one of these up, but I would not pay original cost. It's too much imo for such a large edition. Love the image, but it's just a question of personal finances and perception of value. Some of the low edition Failes go for less than twice original cost on this (an edition of over 300). I might take a grilling from someone now, for bringing up value etc (sorry for lowering the tone), but I live in the 3rd world and get paid in a 3rd world currency for working part time, I have to very carefully consider the value of an item that costs £600 (it's a lot of dough for a print imo).
