Any word on Faile BIN shipping yet?, by snakes on Aug 26, 2008 21:22:34 GMT 1, At their current value they are the best priced and the best of the images of the last Faile release IMO.
They are much better than spending several grand on one of those fake wood stencil prints.

I reckon you will see these go for sub £500 by the end of the month.
I do really like it though - I just think a lot will have been bought to flip.

I do really like it though - I just think a lot will have been bought to flip. Then again, they took so long to sell ( a couple of days in this market) maybe more fans than usual got the chance to get one, either way nice one to those who bought, and if those looking get the chance to grab one at close to cost, I'd highly recomend, as its a peach. I've had a few failes over the last couple of years and this is definately one of the nicest.

Any word on Faile BIN shipping yet?, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Aug 26, 2008 22:19:01 GMT 1, its simple really. people claiming "these will soon be under cost" are the ones who didn't get one, now wish they had but want/need to drive the price down.
people, like myself, bought straight away for the wall as i thought it was fairly priced and great quality. i think most went to fans as they hardly flew out the door...

The Faile BIN was available in there shop for quite a while, I think about a month before it sold out.
Flippers usually sell there stuff fast to make a quick buck, this print was pre sold, with a two months waiting period that makes it less attractive for flippers.
I think most people bought this Faile with the intention to keep it, because they love the image and had some time to think about buying this print.
But then again, it still looking in to a glass bowl, only time will tell I guess.

Any word on Faile BIN shipping yet?, by aginghippie on Aug 27, 2008 1:21:07 GMT 1, I didn't want to show lots of pics because it spoils the surprise when you open it but here is the blind stamp.
One of my favourite bits is the red runs in the lettering. I think they over-inked it and the excess ink forms a gloss border to the red where it was squeezed out.
There are more details hidden in the print, they have put a lot of work into this.

How can you say nearly £700 is fairly priced?/ thats a lot of dough where I come from.....good luck if you can afford such things!

Any word on Faile BIN shipping yet?, by aginghippie on Aug 27, 2008 3:11:12 GMT 1, some of the faile prints from the latest release are being offered at cost, and this is an edition of 315, the ed. of 165 is below cost, so i dont see why these wont go there aswell I'm not sure anyone is going to make money flipping this but I'm also not sure the price will drop much. There will be a few buyers and a few flippers so I think it will be a wash. Edition size isn't everything - I have absolutely no interest in the edition of 165 but I bought this one straight away. Over time I think this is will prove to be more desirable - the Tate link plus it's just a great image.
My feeling is that there are only so many colourways you do an image in and Faile are past that point with a lot of their work. They really need to move on and this could be the start of it. There is a evolution from the old structure but with a new printing technique and different imagery. Personally I prefer it to the old Faile but these things are highly subjective.

Any word on Faile BIN shipping yet?, by themightyreds on Aug 27, 2008 19:52:00 GMT 1, just opened mine up and letting it flatten out...
IT IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING..!
Will post some close up pics tomorrow if i can to try and show the way the ink is laid down... bit too dark at the mo for close-up work! Looks like tiny ink droplets where the plate has been lifted from the paper.... So much detail in this piece. Will be whisking off to the framers at the weekend to get a job done like theycallmestephen mentions below.
great to see these arriving now! can't wait to see framed examples, i think a simple white box frame with the image float mounted would look a treat.

Any word on Faile BIN shipping yet?, by Heavyconsumer on Aug 27, 2008 22:53:52 GMT 1, I don't have one of these and haven't seen it up close, but I think black or dark grey mount and frame. I sincerely hope that some of you knowledgable chaps are right. If I have the cash, I'd be tempted to pick one of these up, but I would not pay original cost. It's too much imo for such a large edition. Love the image, but it's just a question of personal finances and perception of value. Some of the low edition Failes go for less than twice original cost on this (an edition of over 300). I might take a grilling from someone now, for bringing up value etc (sorry for lowering the tone), but I live in the 3rd world and get paid in a 3rd world currency for working part time, I have to very carefully consider the value of an item that costs £600 (it's a lot of dough for a print imo).
