With the exception of the show prints from Ink-d (where a gallery was obviously being cut into the deal) all the prints have been from editions of 30 and similarly priced - with the Lego Frank piece being a compensatory print that probably has a lot to do with why they are trying this way now. No punches being pulled here imo.
I totally understand why they chose this route. TRYHO was oversubscribed once their popularity (or flippability - whichever) outgrew their edition sizes. They probably can't be arsed to manually manage the whole issue of print allocation after last time and the whole replacement print occurence. And I shouldn't think that these print releases are generating enough revenue for them to see the investment in database and site development (not to mention servers and support etc) as worthwhile. Makes perfect sense really.
While I think FairQ is a shyte system, far too open to manipulation, many forumites have been crying out for more FairQ releases. You can't please all the people all the time I guess!
Imo prints which are FairQ'd are far more likely to end up on the secondary market immediately - something Miss Bugs feel strongly about. So I don't expect them to do this more than once! Time will tell.

Miss Bugs โข The Year of The Super Power Rat, by Guest on Nov 26, 2008 1:46:29 GMT 1, I dont think it will lead to more prints being resold, because of fairq, in fact less prints were sold in the first few weeks from the last Faile release than any other release i can remember.

bugs prints are generally handfinished.....not just a quick job either, i have three prints and one OG, they are really top notch....for me, in the top 5 artists on my walls, along with banks, d, chueh, and futura.
i like the small runs. and the price remains very reasonable. i prefer this to oversaturating the market for sure....
