POW Open Day • 2008, by Standard on Dec 6, 2008 14:12:37 GMT 1, Total of 20 cards/tickets, you have to fill your name in and email address and pop them in the correct boxes depending on which print the tickets are for.
There are no stubs and no numbers, so basically no way of tracking who won. Queue's are long and once you've got your tickets you have to queue for entry to POW. I overheard that nobody (at that time) has purchased less than the twenty tickets.
Doesn't appear to very organized, It's too busy today, I got my tickets & a mulled cider and buggered off as I have other things to do!!
I may pop back tomorrow and my advice would be leave it till tomorrow.

POW Open Day • 2008, by collector on Dec 6, 2008 14:16:20 GMT 1, Just got back guys, went there about 9.45am and there were about 14 people but it did get busier as it got closer. Once in I queued for a few minutes to get inside the POW office, some nice stuff in there but nothing outstanding. They had the Micallef original from Bethlehem for £12.5K plus VAT and the Peacekeeper splatter print for £1500 or £15K depending on which staff member you asked, either way it was pretty damaged so I was not interested even at £1500.
I was able to buy 20 Banksy tickets off a guy wondering around despite a massive queue for tickets, and yes you need to write your name and email address on all of them. The queue then seemed to switch to getting into the POW office which is what the massive queue is now doing. People who only go down for tickets are been forced to stand in a massive queue, POW staff are not handling it very well.
My advice would be to leave it a few hours and maybe they will of sorted out the queue so you can either wait to buy tickets or wait to get into the POW office. It does not have the vibe of a Santas Ghetto and the work for sale is not that different to what is on the POW website.
There was however a set of 6 signed Banksy photos from Bethlehem in an edition of 15 for £20K plus VAT, did remind me a little of those photos you see at Spitalfields market though, not for me anyway.

POW Open Day • 2008, by Standard on Dec 6, 2008 14:23:29 GMT 1, I got there at 10.30, about 50th in the queue and it took a good 45 mins to an hour to get my lottery tickets and a hot drink, couldn't face joining the other queue to get in side POW ( I only wanted a few bits and my tickets).
When I was at the stall getting my tickets they were talking about maybe walking down the queue offering the tickets.
The Bethlehem print is outstanding in the flesh!

There were a few new BAST prints there, did not float my boat, very dark, I think there was a variable edition of about 12 for £750 and then a couple of larger editions but not sure of the prices. I looked at them stacked on the shelves but do not remember seeing them on the walls in the POW office.

The 2 Micallef prints can only be brought via the lottery system, they are editions of 150 and cost £500, if you wanted one you stand a better chance of getting once as nobody was buying tickets for these as far as I could see.
One important bit of information that I overheard them telling a guy is that the Banksy print was ONLY available via the lottery. But different staff members generally have different information. I got the impression they would raffle the vast majority of prints with maybe only a handful released online.

POW Open Day • 2008, by m@san on Dec 6, 2008 14:57:58 GMT 1, So what's to stop you writing 20 different names of family members / work mates and 20 different email addresses on the back of the tickets... do POW staff stand over you while you fill them in? . I'm sure there are people out there who have though of this !
