info on signed LA prints, by scud80 on Oct 3, 2006 17:11:47 GMT 1, a little information for those interested: the "destroy capitalism" that ended on saturday wasn't an AP as described in the listing but rather a printer's proof. there were 6 sets of printer's proofs made, which were all signed by banksy. they were sold as sets by the printer, complete with a bound production record document containing a ridiculous amount of information about the whole project (email communications, faxes, notes, etc) and a certificate of authenticity signed by the master printer, print studio owner, and laz. the first two sets that were sold were not marked in any way, and the one on ebay was from the very first set sold. the printer has since contacted those two buyers to get them marked and numbered, and i believe the ebay seller's set is the only unmarked one as of last night. the markings i'm referring to are the printer's stamp in one corner, the pow stamp in the other, and numbering (for example, my set is all numbered 4/6 P/P). some pics for reference:
those were the only prints signed in the presence of the printer. 41 prints went "missing" during the show which were replaced, so it's possible that some of these were signed and given away as mentioned by thugs, though when he mentioned it to banksy as he was signing the proof sets he said banksy seemed surprised by that info. so, there may be 41 prints floating around somewhere which might be unmarked or might be signed and/or numbered. laz might know more about whether they were numbered before they disappeared. i think that's most of the info, if i think of anything more i'll post it.

info on signed LA prints, by scooter on Oct 4, 2006 21:56:59 GMT 1, That's really good to know! I saw that auction and was wondering about it since usually APs are marked as such and numbered.
Just curious, but why would there be a POW stamp when these prints didn't come from POW?
