FAILE LAUNCH UPDATE......, by pelle on Aug 24, 2007 7:48:57 GMT 1, i wonder if all this hype means they're going to raise prices. in other words, what threshold would you be willing to pay for a print? me? $1,000 if it has some custom application on it (paint, coffee, etc.) its a given there will be a price rise. they have said so to take a cut of the flipper market. expect the cheapest to start at over 500USD and go to treble that.
when did anyone from Faile actually say that there would be a price rise? All I have seen is speculation and rumours from various forum members.
Not that I don't believe that prices will rise. I just don't remember Faile themselves saying anything about it publicly.

Hard to believe that less than a year ago I picked up an original from them for $400 at the Upper Playground show in PDX - show had been up for weeks and was half sold out. Now you can't think about what you want to buy for fear of it being gone in seconds at several times the price.

Personally I think their prints are in the top league and still a bit undervalued. No giclees no lithos...proper hand made job combined with screen printing process. Each of their prints is somewhat original made with passion and love. At least that's how I see it. And true street artists BTW
For those who haven't seen Faile's work in flesh IT'S AWESOME, UNIQUE and BEAUTIFUL.
I think there will be a price hike (RUMOR) but the work is worth as much as you willing to pay...blah, blah
Now with more heavy weight collectors and galleries getting their hands on them more and more I don't think new work is gonna hang around for long...
Personally I would rather pay guys directly even at higher prices then pay those money on ebay to some baggers

that info came from me but i havent posted it here before. rhumor and conjecture cane from elswhere. thomas is just helping the visually impaired.

The less good news for pezlow is that I have just realised that I will be nowhere near a computer at release, having promised my daughter to take her to legoland before she goes back to school. Oh well, you win some you lose some.

I had a few of those originals at $350, funny thing was I didnt like them when they arrived, I prefer the colour ones and only a small amount.
