Me neither, but it is too early to get exicited. Slammer - did you get charged an extra $45 for something called "Special Edition" when you bought the Mary?. I initally presumed it was an odd way of adding international postage, but then noticed postage was added ontop.

I do agree that this is incredibly annoying, but in Faile's defence they fully acknowledge the current system isn't perfect and are working on an alternative. This is from the email they sent yesterday (the entire mail was posted in the other Faile thread):
"This will probably be the last time for a little while that we use the Faile Site to launch new work. I believe we will move to the Lottery for the Holiday Release. That being said, many of you will be receiving refunds. We are really sorry for this but it's just how it works right now. We feel bad that your money is tied up and believe the lottery will be much better as you will pay once your notified if you've "won" rather than paying and waiting. So we will be up late into the night working to get refunds. Please bear with us, as we are working hard to make sure you get your money back within 48 hours if you're being refunded. Hopefully we will be caught up sooner".
Faile's customer service is great and, as things stand, not one of the galleries/publishers has been able to come up with a workable solution in these crazy times.

And lets not forget that these guys are street artists not Amazon!!!!
I think the site stood up really well yesterday with the dedicated server. I imagine the backend is reasonably well coded and hope they look into improving it by going with a online merchant so they can create a decent link between basket and payment - then all this malarky would be eradicated.

The FAILE Refunds Thread, by cashman on Aug 29, 2007 11:13:58 GMT 1, I think people need to acnolage (?) the fact that they bought out close to 20 prints instead of the 1 or 2 we were expecting. If that was me id say bollux to the lot of you and stick them on ebay, where they would probably still sell for double what they were asking.
There doing there best, which is far better tham POW have ever done

hardly "a ton", theres 3 or 4 prints (from Faile), plus another 3 or 4 P.O.W prints
I'm sure the usual supects will have theirs listed within a week or so

It is not about the image though for many, its about having the actual thing. You could say the same about the banksy stuff - people always want the original and will pay for it.
I think whatever happens, things like this will always be the same whether the print cost ยฃ12 or ยฃ1200 there is always someone who will pay for it.
Its like saying these will not go up in value, when you know they will - again like banksy.
I'm not defending people flipping them but i think its wishful thinking to think its not going to happen as people will make money from these whether people agree with it or not.

I didnt really get my point across very well. I was basically trying to say that Faile owe us nothing, theyv kept people upto date with the situation Even did there own lottery (sorta) by staggering the release of the prints, but people still complain.

Save your money, I expect there's gonna be a lot of Faile bargains to be had in a month or so. I'd say most of the editions will come down to cost and below. Some of the better ones will go higher as happens with Faile. But a lot of the "editions" won't reach the prices people are hoping. So hold off unless you "must" have that particular print.

I hope so, but unless Gorden gives us a surprise bank holiday in September and the sun is still shining I kind of doubt it

The FAILE Refunds Thread, by Pattycakes on Aug 29, 2007 13:06:51 GMT 1, Ok so I ended up thinking I bought three prints, and surprise surprise I have so far been refunded on two of them. Now I know that this is going to sound like me being a bad sport but I've emailed them to cancel my purchase of the third. I am just so pissed off. Frankly I feel really cheated, ok I know that everyone wanted to buy Mary etc.. but it's not hard to have a checkout system that actaully works. Further to this Paypal because it's international keep the money for 4 days before returning it, so I'm out of pocket, get to pay a whole load of handling fees and get nothing in return. So you'll no doubt see a rather sweet hand finished print going back up on their website tonight.
...rant over.

But we knew that this would happen. Faile told us in emails how the release was going to work, we knew from last time that they would get oversold and people on here warned people that you'd lose your fees on refunds. They did exactly what they said they'd do. Can't see how that leads you to 'feel really cheated'.
