One of them was taken for no reason other than Sharon Osbourne('s back view), and another for the incredible Mr. Micallef himself.
It was a great preview... the artwork was incredible, the presentation was quite spectacular, and I got to meet Mr. Paul Insect! Many many thanks to Motor for letting me be his plus 1!! ;D
Other miscellaneous sightings: Sharon Osbourne, Shepard Fairey, Steve Lazarides, and Jon Abrahams (of "Meet the Parents" and "Meet the Fockers" fame).
Member sightings: motor, jpurcell, crazyjake, and ยฎat. Kinda disappointed that I didn't get to meet more Banksy.info members, though.

Every time a big release is imminent, to save killing myself from anxiousness, I try to convince myself that I don't need the latest Banksy or Mic or Francis etc. These pics have well and truly scuppered that tho' - here's to another couple of days staring at the POW website ...

I was glad to see that Micallef hasn't abandoned the Walk in Harajuku style and I loved the angel's being stalked by paparazzi. The Hollywood Prayers triptych was in a small blacklit room, painted black with fashion magazines strewn out in front and writing on the adjacent walls in white paint: "I want be a princess", and "Oh Lord when is it my turn to be a star."
I have to say that it was very surreal seeing the large 21st Century Love signs out front in the middle of Hollywood Blvd, across the street from a McDonalds. It's bold statement having this show, that focuses primarily on exposing the shallow culture of Hollywood, right in the heart of Hollywood.

I just love micallef work, really really like it, but the old mantra goes out the window cos I have no chance of buying it, really wish they could have made a print of every piece and released them because a lot of lucky devils (rich ones, maybe somewhat impure and idolised) will have some amazing works of art all to themsalves

Sorry Finlee, playing catch up. Yes bought it and it is, but could be better. Plenty of stuff missing which would have made it more complete. Very pricey too.

The show was beautiful and the scale of the work was quite impressive... too bad it doesn't translate to photos well. I took photos and posted some here:

There were 8-10 B&W pieces in the basement and certainly 1 color canvas on the main floor that were still unsold. Dora said there were around 15 of the Maquettes unsold, most of them being the seated boys.
