Hi Gangst. It's really tricky obviously because, being art, it's so subjective. For me, two fairly immediate and accessible (subject-wise for not being too 'heavy', and price wise, for Micallef at least) are 'Save My Soul' (who'd have thought it, consider my username?!?) and 'God I Want To Be Bad'.

you are right, not only is micallef class but now is the optimum time to splash out, providing you can afford it.
my advice would be firstly to buy what you like and can afford but also, go with the image more so than any edition size. no one understands me is out of 95 yet god i want to be bad is 1 of 1000, GIWTBB will sell alot better than NOUM because it is a stronger image, on that basis size does not matter.

we can all give you our opinions, if i were you i'd look zippy up and try and buy his shibuya crossing and giant freak pair but a lot depends on your budget.
the most expensive is not always the best, GIWTBB is awesome, also the LAZ litho's, ed of 50 and the LA series are superb quality and despite bad press are, in the most, very strong images so take your pick.

if you have the money and an idea of waht YOU like, then go for it. if you want to speculate to make a buck then despite good prices there is never a good time to speculate.

get both, get a GIWTBB for £500 ish and an unsigned banksy like a toxic mary or a Jack and Jill and you'll still have some change!

Gangst, save yourself a few quid and spend some time looking through Get your Banksys Out, or the Micallef pictures only threads. Then you'll see loads of framed works. This will give you a clearer picture (see what I did there ) of how his work looks framed.

low, low editions and each a very striking, classic image. do the leg work, swat up and make sure you know all there is to know, only the will you get a true bargain.

none of us can tell you what to do, you must be comfortable with any potential purchase but in my opinion the eyestorm black and whites are the pinnacle of antony's career thus far.

imo 21st will always be the iconic micallef print but cos of the budget i recon judgement day is a classic.

Just don't buy a GIWTBB because it's the cheapest. Loads other prints I'd recommend before that. The Laz prints that were just sold are selling for below retail. A fair deal if you like em. I think they're great.

Can't see it myself. Nice rumour to spread if you're trying to shift a load though. Until the man himself or his agent says says so its not worth the digital memory its written on.
