New to Micallef, by pezlow on Nov 12, 2007 12:44:49 GMT 1, Doesn't seem to have had a major impact on the prices though still some really good deals on Neate prints on ebay
I think it had a bit of an impact. For example before the rumour prints like tea drinker and 2am blog were going for about ยฃ1,200 to ยฃ1,400. Now a bit more...

New to Micallef, by sid on Nov 12, 2007 12:49:51 GMT 1, Agreed but they seem to have dropped again recently and not many selling on ebay at the moment - but no surprise I think with so many releases there is a lack of cash out there at the moment

New to Micallef, by ohmygosh on Nov 12, 2007 14:12:55 GMT 1, Hi, I've been collecting Banksy for about 3 years now, but am deciding to venture out. I've seen Micallef's stuff before but was never really a fan, however, the stuff is really growing on me. I'm going to order his book of off POW, so I can see more of his stuff. However, I'm wondering what are his most popular/classic prints. I've seen Judgement Day and think thats great, I'm contemplating buying a print after reading round the forum that prices are low, but don't want anything too extreme as I want to enjoy viewing it on my wall. Thanks for any help. you are right, not only is micallef class but now is the optimum time to splash out, providing you can afford it. my advice would be firstly to buy what you like and can afford but also, go with the image more so than any edition size. no one understands me is out of 95 yet god i want to be bad is 1 of 1000, GIWTBB will sell alot better than NOUM because it is a stronger image, on that basis size does not matter. we can all give you our opinions, if i were you i'd look zippy up and try and buy his shibuya crossing and giant freak pair but a lot depends on your budget. the most expensive is not always the best, GIWTBB is awesome, also the LAZ litho's, ed of 50 and the LA series are superb quality and despite bad press are, in the most, very strong images so take your pick. if you have the money and an idea of waht YOU like, then go for it. if you want to speculate to make a buck then despite good prices there is never a good time to speculate. good luck and let us know what you go for, i have a few micallef's and am over the moon to own them, i hope you get what you are looking for. any Q's just pm me and i'll try and help, all the best, rupert .
Ive bought a couple of Micallefs from Zippy, nice guy to deal with and sold them to me for a fair price, all mint condition in the tubes and provided the receipts.

New to Micallef, by Chuck D on Nov 13, 2007 7:21:37 GMT 1, When purchasing your Micallef, obviously get an image you love but I would look closely at the edition size. IMO, the larger editions (400+) are far too common. The editions of 50 and the Eyestorm prints will always be sought after. Just food for thought.

New to Micallef, by pkt75 on Nov 13, 2007 10:02:48 GMT 1, Could it not be a small group of Baggers just starting a rumour like this to get everyone wanting all the AM prints they can get, thus creating a rise in the current value of the prints.

That would be my view.

New to Micallef, by Mrs Mouse on Nov 13, 2007 11:38:21 GMT 1, Slightly off point, and may seem like a dumb question, but I was having a debate with my daughter about how you pronounce 'Micallef'.
Is it Mick-a-leff or Mick-ay-leff or Miss-a-leff
Any thoughts?
