Hee hee hee, I'm still in 2 minds as to whether to go looking or not.
And it goes totally against the spirit for people to hoover up as many as hey find, this is about art for all not the few.
My grandfather had a great attitude to picking wild flowers, you never took more than you needed and always left at least one in place so others could enjoy the flower and it lived on. I have this attitude to the Neates, if you find one you collect, any more is simply greedy and also stealing that initial buzz of discovery from somebody else.

I am such a major admirer of Adam's work but never had the opportunity to find a street piece in situ from the auld days. There are 32 boroughs to search and realistically (bicycle punctures aside) there is only going to be so much area I can cover. Fingers are tightly crossed that might be lucky enough to find a print but not that optimistic but the experience will be memorable and good luck to everyone. Agree with the other posts that it would be great if people find more than one that they leave them for others to find/or share with forum friends and that ebay isn't flooded with what is supposed to be free art for everyone (who is familiar or not yet familiar with Adam's work) to enjoy. I am lucky enough to be going out searching with a friend, I hope that no one takes too many risks if they are out alone, especially if you are a girl.

Seeing as the heads up in the independent gave the wrong time of the drop, hopefully most will miss this. and your right Kingston is a London Borough!

Fifty notes a pop just before christmas I reckon (the edition size is massive / current economic climate / time of year/ his other prints not exactly going for a bomb etc).
I would not travel the length of the country at some early hour to risk life and limb for these unless you love adam neate's work, fancy going on a treasure hunt and don't mind going home empty handed.
All the same, good luck to you all.

That's a nice sentiment but many who made this forum what it is will be unable to take you up on your offer.
I'd agree it's only fair if you find multiples but is it fair that the pool of potential recipients be limited by one person ? hardly in the spirit of what Adam is doing when you consider that Adam is making these available to anyone who wants to look for them but any offer to forum members will be hugely restricted by an ever changing and wholly subjective policy that dictates who can take part.

I then decided to put my paintings to some kind of use. Once I’d painted a batch of six to twelve cardboard paintings I would wrap them in bin-liners and leave them outside one of the many charity shops in the town.
This was all well and good, till one day I was walking back from my job and noticed one of my collections of paintings were still outside a charity shop I had left there earlier that morning. The only difference was somebody had opened the bag, taken one look at the paintings and then left them for the bin men to collect. This was a big turning point. My art was a charity shop reject, worthless in its entirety. I gathered up the paintings and started walking back to my house. Whilst I was walking I realized I didn't even have enough room for the paintings back in my house. Out of pure laziness I decided to leave them in the streets propped up against walls and lampposts. Whilst I was doing this I was laughing at how surreal and funny it looked to hang paintings in the streets. That one street had become a makeshift gallery for whoever happened to walk by that night. I love the idea of my art being temporary.

One person will be thrown out and another praised and encouraged for saying the same thing.
So to my point which I hope you now understand, do you think it fair that Adam make these available to anyone willing to look for them but that any multiples offered here are only available to those that are chosen to be allowed to post ?
To me that seems to be the complete conceptual opposite of the of this act.

Either way I'm really excited and incredibly grateful to Adam neate for organising such an opportunity (I'd never be able to afford a piece) and like he says “I don’t mind what happens to them.” so if I find a multiple and decide to give it to a poster on here because this forum has enabled me to find out about amazing events like this then I believe that to be my prerogative.

Is a member of this forum more intitiled to have it than someone who goes looking. Just cos someone is a fan does not mean they should have preference. Obviously i would be happy as larry if someone did give me one but would feel tough on someone who went looking to no avail.
