I've been offered Banksy Di-Faced Tenners from separate sources for quite different prices.
One for around ยฃ100 and one for around ยฃ450.
Does anyone have any tips for spotting fakes, or what I should be looking for in a real one?
What would be a reasonable price?

Seeing as the same people have been selling tenners in pairs for over a year and a half without getting busted, there's plenty of money to be made on these, so I'd be really careful.
(One of them is called 'Banksyfreak' so watch out for his e-mail spam - he's a man with a very busy colour photocopier.)
I did a lot of trawling around before I bought one - another warning signal is anybody who claims to have 'picked one off the floor at Notting Hill carnival.'
Mine came with a gallery's prov - but, honestly, I don't see that as watertight authenticity by any means, I just really like the tenners and they do look great with a nice wide border around them. (Better still, float mount them between two pieces of perspex and frame them as normal..
Price, about 100-150 if you think you can trust the seller

Authenticity check on Banksy Tenner, by neale on Jan 26, 2009 17:16:51 GMT 1, Its printed on reasonably stiff paper and looks creased, but isnt. Forgeries are hard to spot unless you have an original to compare it with, but I'd steer clear of ebay. ยฃ100 is plenty for one.
