Nola- Discussion, by grantb on Nov 21, 2008 1:16:33 GMT 1, So have POW changed the Banksy images on their site to reflect that Banksy has consciously moved in some sort of direction with the monochrome? And, I always thought the Nola image showed it was raining inside the umbrella. But my wife has just told me don't be stupid it's just rain pouring off the brolly as per everday life. So there was I thinking it was, albeit slightly cheesily, conceptual, but... now, not sure. On the whole though, love it! Proper Bansky stylie, real street feel with a his own style that some say is impossible to achieve through stencil work, but Banksy is still in a class of his own and unmistakable. This is what this forum was about for me - the master!
thats what i always thought. that the rain was coming down from the umbrella.

Nola- Discussion, by jerometurner on Nov 21, 2008 1:26:26 GMT 1, i'll have to agree that the print slightly differs from the street piece. kind of takes away from the overall image Banksy wished to convey, but still, at 450GBP this is a steal for a signed Banksy. i missed the POW onsale, would have snatched one in a heartbeat without a doubt. still slightly pissed off i missed it, here's to hoping there's an unsigned run tomorrow.

It's great tactics! The guy has built a reputation from being class A at what he does, everyone here loves his work, he gets a forum specially dedicated to his work, we all wanna own a piece of his street work, and a signed print is the way in which we all can. (Well not all of us since I missed Lola! )

Well in the case of New Orleans he "whacked up" what 8 or was it 10 stencils, moved on had a dig at the Klan before going to New York and shelling out a shed load of cash on a show to make a political/social comment. Now he's drawing our attention back to the plight of New Orleans by IMO making the edition size part of the commentary of the art, born 289 years ago getting killed by the weather. I'd call that the tactics of someone with a mission to fund.
Having had a quick look through your flickr you would seem to be standing around shouting "oi kettle you're black you are"
