Banksy NOLA Print on POW, by pauljunk on Nov 24, 2008 14:54:24 GMT 1, FYI to all - Use firefox instead of IE7 next time you try to pick up a print! Due to the field of work I am in, I have to use IE7 with more restrictive permissions set on it on my home computer. I didn't realize that the POW web site doesn't like these permissions until it was too late.
Last Thursday I was able to get 2 Nola's in two separate browsers number 72 and 198 (if you got one of them - you're welcome ). I went to check out with the 72. I filled out my info and when I proceded to payment I got a "page not found" error on the protx site. I repeated this for the other print I had in another browser and the same thing happened.
I did some testing and if you have your IE7 browser set to Medium high permissions with a few additional permissions turned to disabled then you are f'ed. Protx will blow up on you.
I e-mailed Dora and unfortunately she gave me the ol' better luck next time. It broke my heart.
With the amount of problems they've had with protx (remember trolleys last year) I don't understand why they don't log your info and lock down the print when you proceed to payment in case protx fails so when you get shit on like me they have a record on their end that you were the one who scored the print at least and they can offer you a link to make the payment.
I lost about $250 worth of sick leave and a cancelled dr appointment to nab one of these bitches and I was 1 busted shopping cart click from adding to my collection and I got fudged.
As you can clearly tell I'm still on stage 4 of the grief cycle (depression) hoping to hit acceptance by Thanksgiving when I see my baby nephew.
I hope everyone in the UK enjoys the open house and is able to score a print. Lucky Bastards. I wonder if there won't be a ghetto this year and the open house is replacing it?

Banksy NOLA Print on POW, by Deleted on Nov 24, 2008 14:55:59 GMT 1, i have just shat myself , i read your posts regarding getting an email from POW saying your order has been cancelled, so i went to straight to my email inbox and hit the update button to see the 12 unread emails go to 13 unread emails, oh no , please not me, but thankfully it was an email from BRP To those who did get the email if feel for you, and wish you better luck on the next print drop.

Banksy NOLA Print on POW, by silvermyn on Nov 24, 2008 15:07:26 GMT 1, POW really should give fairq a try because this seems to be a shambles. They could restrict multiple registrations on fairq by requiring a ยฃ500 deposit up front and then few would try that sneaky route.
Just a thought but may be worth a try to see if it works better than the current system.

4 weeks here on Grannies, no email nothing, they just refunded my payment and I had no idea till I got my cc statement in the mail. S&S sale went very smoothly, but it was somewhat random; everyone suspected it was going up but there was no heads-up email hours before.

The trouble is they dont need to give customer satisfaction anymore. The demand will always be there for the top artists and they know they have a large demand so they are on a win win.
Dont be fooled by putting your first name on a site that its a friendly corner shop. Its a business with a huge turnover for a printing business and as long as it stops that way you will not change their thoughts......

Yes Hupster, I agree but that's a bit of an over simplification if you don't mind me saying.
They will sell out Banksy, Micallef and Faile everytime. I consider them to be loss leaders to an extent, sold at a loss in order to sell something else at full price. IMO other artists benefit to a degree by association alone.
POW have a number of other artists work that they sell to genuine art lovers who have been shopping on their site for years now (myself included). Start loosing those customers due to bad will and start watching your business suffer. IMO not a good position for any business to be in during a global recession.
I'm considering this from a very personal point of view of course, but I'm sure I'm not alone. Customer satisfaction is alive and well and worth ยฃยฃยฃ's to those who have it.

Not a loss leader as the mark up is substantial over unit cost. It is the artist that keeps pricing low, and thank god for that. POW is run by professional hippies. This is what makes it for me. They don't seem to have changed that much in years. God bless em. I feel sorry to all that have been refunded. This is a total bitch. Im sure that you will still have another shot this year. oi oi

Banksy NOLA Print on POW, by ecb on Nov 24, 2008 15:53:34 GMT 1, Ok. I'm in the boat with the others who have been refunded for no good reason. Print #112.
Dora said the over orders were refunded immediately on friday. I understand it may take 1 day with your bank for you to see it. At least it did for me.
Now I have a third charge for around -$20. The first charge was fr around -$698, then the refund aroung +$698. Does anyone else have a third charge for around -$20?
This has almost become comical in a loony way as all of this doesn't make sense to me seeing that they sold more on Friday and no AP's were offered. This was my first purchase from POW. Is this what I have to look forward to every time?
And can someone/everyone please check for that third charge for -$20. It is easy to overlook because it fits in with everyday transactions. Please check. Thank you.
DOra said in my email that while the Nola prints are sold out, there will be more prints soon. One could infer this to be Banksy prints, but it wasn't stated.

Banksy NOLA Print on POW, by Deleted on Nov 24, 2008 16:07:09 GMT 1, heres me sat at home feeling a bit sorry for myself due to getting a refund and then i get a message saying a friend has died. puts missing a banksy print into perspective. I am still fucking pissed off with POW and im feeling guilty about that, as my thoughts should be totally with my friend and his family.
