Not sure on how much Liberty is going for these days. Just thought if someone had an unsigned Banksy they wanted to swap and they wanted liberty it'd be a good switch....

Yeah i do agree that AP's are worth a bit more, but I would say they are worth that extra money if slightly different from the main edition. Take the AP's of cyclops print from SOS at the mo, the main print is blue, the ap's are red, green, silver, black etc, and all one off. Luckily this aint my print so i can say it, but i think they may have well just said the main edition was 180 and sold the 30 AP's as main edition prints. I dont think it would have stopped people buying it, and would have then allowed the release of say a few AP's with different colors in them. Anyway, just a personal thought there. I've chatted to my mate and he has another print that he would also include i a swap, just trying to get him to snap a pic of it and will post.

I see what you are saying, but the run should just be made larger, or the 30 APs should just be referred to as a separate smaller run. Look at the Blu print just released at studiocromie, it is as if when they did this seperate color run they just called it an AP. AP is supposed to mean something, it is supposed to be a tool for the artists to use in creating a screen print.

Wow, didnt expect a response quite like that Link'd mate to be honest. If you notice i ask if its a fair trade, plus i said its for a friend and he, and me, weren't sure on prices. As it happens a morons print sold on ebay for £356.33 recently, so guess its not that far out. Theres also a flags ending in 1h 31m (just below) thats at 310 right now, i know it'll probably shift soon, but again shows that its not that far out in my eyes. Also the idea was more to trade something not wanted anymore for something that he does want, rather than try and sell it and then buy an inflated Banksy print, and therefore give someone who wanted Liberty a chance to own that at the same time.

Anyways, i'm chatting to him tonight about another print he has that he doesn't want that he will include in the swap, not sure what it is as yet, but he says its a James Cauty AP and pretty big, so hopefully that'll add some incentive. But again who knows, i'm just trying to help the guy out as i've been on here for a little while and told him i bought some nice prints off some nice peeps for the right prices.

Why not get to the stage where there's 480 A/P's and 20 on general release??

why? an artist proof is simply a print from normal edition but audited by artist. for a normal edition of 150 it needs not more than 2 or 3 proofs. each proof more means more profit for artist or publisher. 30 aps are not more than a cunning marketing.
