Eine gone from POW, by low3 on Dec 13, 2008 2:30:52 GMT 1, I think with eine its to do with a few things:
1. The quality of the prints: until you see one first hand, you wouldn't understand how the finish on the print can make it a thousand times better.
2. The prints are a reflection of Eine's streetwork: again, until you've seen his SCARY on rivington st (The sole reason i bought the print), or the EXCITING, or the original VANDALISM pieces, or even the shutters, the prints don't mean too much.
3. Understanding where Eine has come from, who is, what he's done in the past. Look it up, he's been around some cool places and people.

Excellent points. However with a large majority of the supporting art world living outside of london how would any of us appreciate the street work. Does this print have solely community support, or is it aimed at the dyslexic. NO OFFENSE MEANT. 3. Understanding where Eine has come from, who is, what he's done in the past. Eine gone from POW, by low3 on Dec 13, 2008 2:51:48 GMT 1, None taken. It could be one of the reason's he's never really taken off as massively as he should. Check out the photo's of his street work on flickr.
I hummed and ahhed over the Elton prints that were on POW for ages before deciding i didn't like them cos it was just a print out of a font. When i eventually saw one in the flesh it looked completely different. The finish on the print was unbelievable, the photos on the site just didn't do it justice.
I suppose though, its like marmite, innit. Love it or hate it, everyones got an opinion!

Eine gone from POW, by howies on Dec 13, 2008 5:05:02 GMT 1,
I have to say that after travelling to london this year and visiting the cans festival and seeing vhils work there. Then walking the streets and coming across SCARY and EXCITING I had to get hopefully some art by both artists.
Two artist that definetly stood out, Another was C215 and copyright.
I recently won the oportunity to buy exciting and ephemeral decay and can not wait untill they both arrive, the colours on ephemeral really stand out compared to his other prints IMHO.
Although I have to agree with Jboy after seeing Vhils laz prints I do hope he evolves, into what I don't know but something new.

Eine gone from POW, by Ruggs on Dec 13, 2008 7:36:13 GMT 1, Shame to hear that Eine has disappeared from the POW site especially as a friend who went to last weeks Open Day said he saw a pile of 'Elton' light versions kicking around inside one of the print rooms!!!!! Like low3 I had plenty of opportunities to get one, but ultimately missed out! Doh!

Eine gone from POW, by jakek on Dec 13, 2008 8:27:34 GMT 1, yeah i would prefer an orig i think, ive got a bit of a theory about the vhils prints that its done with inks that will fade with time so the image may go completely. cool using bleach though, guess it was the only way he could get his style across in a print
his originals with the billboards and reverse graffiti are stunning but all of the ones i've seen (pics from his show in portugal, the one in the stolenspace show and the one on laz) are all massive (2m square or there abouts) as was his cans piece which means virtually noone can house one - so it's not quite as easy as saying "i'd prefer an original". i guess he's worked on the bleach techniques to find a way to showcase his portraits in a house friendly style.

Eine gone from POW, by Daniel Silk on Dec 13, 2008 9:40:25 GMT 1, I think the two Elton's are his best prints so far I don't think people really realize how important Eine has been to Banksy, POW and the whole scene over the years. The number of Banksy prints that were printed by him, and his input into them. Plus can you name any other Artist that has an many square foot of work up on the street at this very moment? think and Scary, Exciting, plus all the shutters all over the country ;D

Eine gone from POW, by jamieb on Dec 13, 2008 12:08:47 GMT 1, Shame to see Eine gone from POW, I too didn't "get" the Elton until it was too late, again don't think POW's pics did it justice.
I have both Scary and Exciting both of which will be going up, I loved the scary in Rivingtion street from the moment I saw it, and even got EINE to do me a canvas letter of the "S" as there was no print at the time. Although being a designer I think helps to appreciate the typography.
Incidentally now that I have the print I'm selling the canvas if anyone wants it. banksyforum.proboards82.com/index.cgi?board=ebaychat&action=display&thread=29655
