Banksy โข Nola Print, by Happy Shopper on Dec 17, 2008 12:06:03 GMT 1, Why are people talking about it being rolled wrong? You can only roll paper one way, and it depends on the way the grain runs! Try it. It will always roll one way easier than the other, and that's the way you have to do it or you'll damage the paper (get what looks like cracks in it).

Banksy โข Nola Print, by melmoth on Dec 17, 2008 16:52:35 GMT 1, Point noted on the paper. However, the main issue with the way that POW have handled the shipping is that they didn't use a large enough margin on the kraft paper on either end of the print. The kraft paper is intended to act as a shock absorber for the print if it moves around in the tube, and the print is either getting scrunched along with the kraft paper, or slipping outside it completely, and taking the brunt of the impact directly.
If there are issues with rolling the print in the opposite direction as has been stated, then the print should be shipped in a longer tube, which would allow a larger kraft paper margin, or shipped flat. I'm sure that no one here would object to paying a little extra for this to ensure that it arrived safely.

Banksy โข Nola Print, by pezlow on Dec 17, 2008 16:58:47 GMT 1, I think the POW tubes are about as long as the UK postal service accepts. 90cm is their limit. BRP use longer tubes but they use a courier service.
Personally I can't see the harm in rolling horizontally - POW do it for other prints. After all they are only going to be in the tube for a day or so. Surely it is far more important for the print to arrive in one piece.
Personally I think all POW prints should have deckled edges. That way you won't notice any damage so much...

Banksy โข Nola Print, by Happy Shopper on Dec 17, 2008 17:11:02 GMT 1, They only roll horizontally if that particular print is on paper cut that way around. You really wouldn't want it rolled the wrong way. They just need bigger tubes.

Banksy โข Nola Print, by rosstierney on Dec 17, 2008 17:27:11 GMT 1, considering their turnover, you'd think they'd already have an account with a courier
they could use bigger tubes & it would probably cost them less

Banksy โข Nola Print, by ecb on Dec 17, 2008 17:44:14 GMT 1, The tubes were long enough, but the kraft paper was not wide enough. They simply needed to find wider kraft paper and use it.
Has anyone asked to have their grey Nola replaced?

Banksy โข Nola Print, by ecb on Dec 17, 2008 17:46:12 GMT 1, I will post some pics of mine later tonight. Is anyone who received a grey nola received provenance/CoA? No, I was thinking earlier today to send a question to POW and asking if there is gonna be some coa for the grey nola. Anyone else knowing anything about this?
So did you ask POW? Please let me know.

Just good screenprinting... definitely not hand sprayed

The source image used to make the screens would have been the sprayed stencil version of the piece. As long as the mesh count of the screen is reasonably high, it's possible to capture a great deal of detail on the screen itself.
You can see the same effect on many of the older Banksys (I'm looking at WSM on my wall now and can see the same sort of fuzziness around the old man).
One thing's for sure - the resulting image looks sweet! I was very impressed with the finish on Nola.

As for the tube, I would gladly pay extra for a BRP tube/courier service.

Banksy โข Nola Print, by blakes11 on Dec 19, 2008 23:48:54 GMT 1, Hi all, New to all this and just taken delivery of my 'Very Little Helps' today. Was expecting some sort of paper work to come with the print as well as the POW stamp somewhere on the print. Got neither. Is this common? Would appreciate input. Nola is my preferred print though but Very little Helps is growing on me the more i look at it. Quality is fantastic. Cheers.

I'm not 100% sure but I think most of the previously released prints do have the blindstamp; there's been a discussion of this somewhere on the forum. As for the paperwork, you should receive a COA through the post; they send them out separately for obvious reasons
