photos of my 1/1 dface, by sand on Feb 4, 2009 13:00:58 GMT 1, I'll post pics of mine when I pick it up from BRP.
There's a handful of other trial proofs of this print as well.
Perhaps a few for sale at the BRP print show in a few weeks?

photos of my 1/1 dface, by jfury on Feb 4, 2009 14:51:54 GMT 1, v nice piece, however a couple of questions....is this an AP "type" variant or as the original version of this is the 1/1, is this still considered a sperate 1/1 or part of some sort of edition?
I know this might spark furious debate however I cant figure it out!?!?!?

photos of my 1/1 dface, by sand on Feb 4, 2009 15:06:26 GMT 1, It's classed as a 'unique proof' on my invoice.
It is signed by dface and written 'trial proof' on the actual piece.
I believe they printed the piece onto a few different backgrounds / paper / card to see what would work before they chose what to go with.
I guess once they had chosen what paper to use they printed the AP and than the editioned run.
There's only one on each different type of card which makes the piece a 1/1 out of a handful of trial proofs. All a bit confusing.
There is a couple more different versions out there..

photos of my 1/1 dface, by rosstierney on Feb 4, 2009 16:26:00 GMT 1, as much as i like your print grant, hearing sand made a similar purchase two days later
95 regular edition, 28 artist proofs, god only knows how many printers proofs & now 'trial proofs' @ ยฃ850 a pop (framed)
come on, it's getting a bit ridiculous

photos of my 1/1 dface, by sand on Feb 4, 2009 16:37:37 GMT 1, Yep I agree.
I only bought it cos I wanted the original print and it takes forever for me to frame pieces, so it killed 2 birds with one stone.
The BRP newsletter states 'Our annual print show dedicated to the art of printmaking opens on Saturday 21st February and will include new editions, one off trial proofs, our largest and most complex print to date, hand coloured prints...'
Will be interesting to see what the other trial proof and hand coloured prints look like...sounds like BRP have taken a leaf out of the POW 'specials' by appointment at the showroom / laz hand finished prints.

photos of my 1/1 dface, by jfury on Feb 4, 2009 17:48:36 GMT 1, AP (artist proof), TP (trial proof), UP (unique prof) or PP (printers proof)...which is worth more???
Any more "proof" variants to throw into the mix?....is there a BP (bon ร tirer Proof) OP (original proof), EP (Edition proof) etc etc
This is quite interesting:

photos of my 1/1 dface, by sand on Feb 4, 2009 18:02:13 GMT 1, 'Trial proof' is the term used for a preliminary stage print in which the design has not been fully completed (e.g. background missing, shading missing, etc.). 'Artist's proofs' are copies of the final print which are given to the artist (or sometimes which have just been signed by the artist to increase their value). 'Printer's proofs' are preliminary pulls to check things like alignment of colours, etc. The design is complete, but the technical parameters of the pull are still being tweaked.'
If you look carefully, grant's print is also missing some of the background printing compared to the editioned run of 95 on paper - the background behind superman has none of the background 'wash'.

photos of my 1/1 dface, by Agent Provocateur on Feb 8, 2009 19:57:51 GMT 1, Have to say I got to the exhibition the 'Not so...' was sold at... and the person in the queue before me got the last ticket they handed out guaranteeing a purchase!
I really like it on the brown card... buuuut I have just noticed on AS there is another brown version. Probably a different type of card, but very confusing
