Banksy Bristol City Museum Show, by They call me Stephen on Jun 11, 2009 16:43:48 GMT 1, Yeah maybe  I do like the industrial spaces for shows as well Could the style of the place fit with what Banksy is after? Big gold frames? Oil painting? we will see ;D
I don't know Silky, Crude Oils was just as perfect for those requirements if not better...it was two fingers up to a proper gallery/museum space and quintessentially Banksy with the rats!
If this is the real location then it seems to almost say that Banksy is moving from the street to the gallery space. Make of it what you will but I would rather see the works of an artist who has up until now turned his back on the 'real' art scene in an innovative and interesting space that itself turns its back on the ‘real’ art exhibiting space. Street art is after all art for the people. The Bristol Museum and Art Gallery makes me feel a little meh!
Don’t get me wrong, I’m very very excited about this exhibition and can’t wait to see it...just feel that it is a shame that the show is so accessible and safe.
Rivington Street Tunnel – amazing, start of a scene
Turf war warehouse – perfect for the art exhibited
Crude Oils – spot on
Barely Legal – Taking it to the US in another great space
Pet Store – Didn’t see that coming at all
Santa’s Ghetto – Each surpassing the last
The Bristol Museum and Art Gallery – MOR no??

The pig plague has just been classified as a pandemic. Not that it matters very much after News at 10 last night telling us that Mars is going to smash into the Earth killing us all.
