There's a first right of refusal to previous buyers and then the preview sale...if the artist is reasonably known, it's likely there will be nothing left for sale at the regular show, that's what the artist hopes for Yes I am well aware how it works thank you. Mainly stating that it's not fair as banksy is supposedly an artist for the people, however the people really never get a chance to purchase anything at source. Banksy is not supposed to be the norm. It's just a messed up system

There are too many fans now for availability to everyone, if he made unlimited editions so everyone could get one, no one would want those--people would give them no value and would chase the more limited editions

I'm beginning to think there will be NO originals for sale, there hasn't been at the last few shows has there? bethleham was different, but cans, open day, pet shop.., I think it will be nice big installations.

I think its silly so say people only buy the limited editions. I don't have enough for a limited edition, and I'm sure many others feel the same.
The unltd Soup Cans was a sucess. Its not all about resale value either if you truly love the art...

With all respect, the printing and paper was low quality. There is a major difference between that litho and the original soupcan... If there was an unlimited run of quality serigraph printing on high quality archival paper then I would absolutely buy one, but people would still want an opportunity at those closed edition prints...old and new

The sentiment can remain but the method of delivery usually changes if you get my drift.

The show will probably run for 2-3 weeks giving everyone suitable time to make arrangements to go. If you want to go, get up off your arse, switch off your computer and join the real world. If you dont want to go, then fine, dont go! This is supposedly a 'banksy' forum so I would have thought everyone would do whatever they could to go and see / support our favourite artist. But some will still hide behind their PC mumbling about they couldnt go as their mum wouldnt let them / their essay has to be in on Monday.
