Whats up with Pure Evil???, by rob123rob on Apr 27, 2007 1:42:01 GMT 1, Im new to these message boards, so cut me some slack for my newbie ignorance. One thing I was wondering was why is it that the prints on Pure Evil's site are selling out?
Does anyone on here collect them? I think they look pretty cool, but each time I'm tempted to buy one I keep on thinking, wait a second, this print will probably still be available in a month from now, so better spend your money on something that is fleeting.
I escpecially like the Sgt. Pepper's print, but none of them have sold out yet. What you do think?

Yep, probably so. But the bulk of them would be snapped up by baggers and tossers as opposed to fans.

Yep I have one too! Really really nice one. The colors are very vibrant. Get it if you like it, it's a great print!!

I don't buy many prints. But, I will answer why if I kind of like the idea of the print, I would not buy one:
-I have not seen the print in the flesh, but I could follow the messages on this board. The print came quickly and nothing surprised me in the execution. I did not find a lot more than the idea (from the picture);
-the print is 100£, the edition is large and it's like you would buy the cheap one because there are 10 bigger most expensive, etc...If I buy a print, I want the best one. But 666£ is not that cheap I think;
-I don't like different versions or different colours, if I don't feel a strong artistic reason;
But more importantly, I see some too positive comments just saying how good it is and not why (except agent baccardi here, which was positive).... A subject like this just scares me...Where does this idea come from that prints should quickly sell out? Silky, there is one on POW no? Why does it matter for you if a print will sell out quickly or not, except from the fact that you can buy something else in the mean time?
Pure evil indeed seems a terrific guy and he certainly deserves that you like his work. However, if I feel that some people have work from him and it's one reason why they are constantly saying how good it is...The consequence is I will have to really really like the work before to buy one...

if you like it buy it, if you like it and don't buy it someone else will, and envitably it will sell out and you will be gutted.

I only buy what I like, simple as that ;D I didnt like the Pure Evil print that was at the Ghetto Show thats just my personal taste, nothing against it  But I really love the latest pieces from Mr Evil ;D they are just in another class! The images are real talking points, Loads of time gone into making them, Top quality printing, What more can you want? ;D £100 for something like that is a bloody good buy

First off ... thought Sgnt Pepper idea fantastic first time i saw it along with Guernica.
The Pepper print will i have no fear stand the test of time
in being both humourous, dark - and of course message laiden.
Not fussed if everyone / anyone thinks otherwise - I bought it all the same - the message will continue to make me laugh.
Guernica - well I've not bought (a colour !) yet - but will do - again the image is both timely and worthy of a mention. Spin the image round make it modern / topical.

I certainly overreacted a bit...Because, in general, I'm just more amazed as how things are quickly sold out than the opposite...I indeed very much like the hand doing a bunny in the background with the fingers that I saw on another subject and could go for something around it...
