Launch of THE LONG ARM GALLERY, by Steal From Work on Feb 5, 2009 17:09:55 GMT 1,
Steal From Work spent the last year or so making use of some of Bristol’s ‘loveliest’ empty spaces to host much loved group and solo shows. But now we’ve decided to mend our wandering ways and open a permanent space in a mouldy corner of the Bristol's old Bridewell Police Station.
We're aiming at one show every month or so, but have no real set plan and certainly no rules to follow.
We open on Friday 20th February with a brand new solo show by Cept; Galaxy Rays (full details to follow in a separate post). And we're still firming up dates for the next few shows, but Bristol is well overdue a decent gallery that's not just full of whatever the Arts Council is into this week or crammed with watercolours and bloody Bristol Blue Glass...
ADDRESS: The Long Arm Gallery Old Bridewell Police Station Bridewell Street Bristol, BS1 3PY (The entrance will be just round the corner from the fire station, next to the zebra crossing)
GALLERY OPENING TIMES: Wednesday-Sunday - 12pm-7pm (but only whilst shows are on)
OPENING NIGHT: Friday 20th Feb, 8pm-10.30pm

The cops have long gone so now it’s our time to have some fun…

Launch of THE LONG ARM GALLERY, by welikestatic on Feb 6, 2009 17:27:01 GMT 1, nice Saul Bass reference there - his film posters are some of the most iconic pieces of design in cinematic history!
Good luck guys, hopefully get over there in the near future to check it out.
