I would try to contact the gallery in Hong Kong asap regarding his latest show. Maybe somebody dropped out and you could get lucky. Otherwise, I'd try contacting Elms Lesters. Maybe you can get on the waiting list. Don't bother with a print. They don't translate at all. Wish I had more for you.

Jose Parla advice needed, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on May 17, 2009 11:30:07 GMT 1, if g-man ever ends up with a Parla of any description on the wall then I'll eat my shoe.
so many window shoppers here, posturing for effect. If you were SERIOUS then you would have already got your thumb out of your arse and spoken to the great people at Elms, and quietly spoken to people on here who have shown theirs.
although the likelihood of a primary piece being placed with someone who would probably sell/swap for the next "must have" is low anyway

Jose Parla advice needed, by weeble on May 17, 2009 12:06:00 GMT 1, The thing that makes me unsure of Parla's work, is that I'm pretty bored of it already. I don't really see how the pieces are constructed, or conceived. I mean, it looks as though he works quite freely. Therefore I struggle to find any real merit to from one piece to the next. Even though aesthetically one might look more pleasing than another, to me they all end up having the same meaning/quality. Don't think I'm as excited by his work as I initially thought I was. Only my opinion of course....

But if you're willing to drop ยฃ10k on a work on paper, you really might want to consider other possibilities.

it may have been rude, but it is the truth. If you arent willing to put the work in searching on your own, researching, fact finding, in my most humble opinion, youre just not that into it.
