i want to swap my faile prospector , by xhitsthespot on Aug 12, 2009 10:05:33 GMT 1, Let me get this right, you're looking at a straight swap, your Faile with a current going rate of £650-£800 for a Banksy Donut at a current going rate of £1300-£1500?

you're spot on gp, personally i'd keep the prospector over a donuts and would pay more for it as well if i had the readies. 630 is stupidly underpriced, someone got a right deal there!

i want to swap my faile prospector , by blitsu on Aug 12, 2009 19:28:42 GMT 1, If you don't have the cash to buy it, what value do your comments on it's worth have? It's a little like telling the Sultan of Brunei, 'Nah, mate. S'gotta be worth a quarter of a billion, that yacht. Course, i don't have the cash myself but it's easy worth that.'
The market, that is, people who do have the cash, would indicate that it's current value is just south of £700. A red SOTM sold for £800 and a striking Ganesha just over a grand. Donuts has made around twice the price of that Prospector., if not a little more. That may not be satisfactory to the seller of this peace, but that is the reality.
Now, if you're talking about artistic merit, well, that's a different conversation.

i want to swap my faile prospector , by blitsu on Aug 13, 2009 8:38:58 GMT 1, Than this?

For me, no, but for someone, perhaps.
The last line of my previous comment was 'Now, if you're talking about artistic merit, well, that's a different conversation. ' However, unless you have unlimited funds cost is a big issue. I know which Failes I want and I know how much I can pay for them. What I don't understand is why someone would pay more for something than they needed to. What I mean is - a prospector sold for £700, so perhaps more are available for that? So why would you swap a print that is selling for £1,500 for it? Wouldn't it make more sense to sell the Donuts, stick the money under the bed and see what happens? I guess this sort of swap suits impatient people, looking for instant gratification so good luck.
Additionally, I mean no offence to anyone about this. I, like everyone, have pieces that have gone up and pieces that have gone down but take the view, well, so what? If I sell x to buy y and they've both gone down it doesn't matter. But I wouldn't be trading 2x for x.

i want to swap my faile prospector , by Graffiti Prints on Aug 13, 2009 9:27:46 GMT 1, ebays luck of the draw, i put my faile in the window for offers i still miffed every time i do a swap on here someone goes to the trouble of posting other sales of other images etc to prove a pointless fact.
for the record i don't need to swap it or sell it so it really is pointless, if i put it in the window and a good swap comes along GREAT, but if nothing of fancy does pop out the woodwork, the faile will go back in hiding or be framed.
thanks to all who pmed and responses have been sent, still no deal as yet so feel free to pm.
