Suggestions for re-framing my Bomb-Hugger, by danvnuk on Jan 9, 2007 13:59:53 GMT 1, I'm picking my JD up from the Framers at the end of the week, and if he's done a good job (fingers crossed ;D) I'll be putting my signed Bomb-Hugger in to be re-framed. (When I bought it, it came in a Nielsen frame)
Now my question for the learned experts of the forum with exquisite taste....Yes YOU!!!
How best to Frame my pride and Joy?
I havent seen that many framed to inspire me....
Cheers, Dan

Suggestions for re-framing my Bomb-Hugger, by corblimeylimey on Jan 9, 2007 14:51:27 GMT 1, I've got a few prints in Nielsen frames and I think they look fine, to improve yours get a larger frame and choose a mount board. Although of course there are plenty of other possibilities so I guess it's worth considering anything, why not look in the Get Your Banksy's Out For The Lads thread?
Here's my Che, not been posted here before as I didn't think it belonged in the Get Your Banksy's Out For The Lads thread.

Suggestions for re-framing my Bomb-Hugger, by rolyateel on Jan 9, 2007 16:48:27 GMT 1, can we have a "get your NON-banksy's out for the lads" thread...as at the end of the day it's nice to look at most prints & see how they're framed - regardless of the artist
or maybe a "get your POW artists out for the lads" at the very least

23.5" X 33" with a 3" border mount, it wasn't a 'off the peg' solution but made by my local framer, the border mount is a kind of cream colour which matches the creamy paper.
Cost about £100.

Suggestions for re-framing my Bomb-Hugger, by scud80 on Jan 9, 2007 17:27:24 GMT 1, i'd recommend a mat board that matches the color of the paper and then a thick black frame. that's how i did my grannies and i really like how it turned out. the thick frame really defines a space for the print and makes the pink pop nicely (mine's floated but i think it would look similar matted). the frame i chose has a little detailing on the edges also, as i wanted it to be a little fancier than a plain frame though i think it would look fine anyway.

Suggestions for re-framing my Bomb-Hugger, by headphonesex on Jan 9, 2007 18:43:33 GMT 1, I did a DIY job on my bomb hugger at the weekend.
Bought a 60x80 frame from Habitat, and cut a mount myself.
What I learnt at the weekend is that cutting a mount is a b**ch!
Think I did a reasonable job on it though. The mount is a slightly pinky white.
I would recommend buying a frame from habitat for £25 and getting a mount custom-made.

I may go for something similiar, the plus side being it would match my other prints that also have black, square wooden frames.

Suggestions for re-framing my Bomb-Hugger, by mido on Jan 9, 2007 22:14:10 GMT 1, always been a massive cycling fan.... TDF this year will be mad!!!
favourite moment ever = in the days before satellite / internet etc when you didn't actually know the result when you watched it on TV. 1987. Pedro Delgado, a mountain expert, is believed to be several crucial minutes up on Stephen Roche on a foggy mountain finish at La Plange. he crosses the line, and behind him in the mist this figure appears... even the commentators don't know who it is (I love the idea that it not a perfect sport, and weird things happen)... then they scream 'i think it's Roche... IT IS ROCHE...... where on earth did he come from'. I was just amazed at the super human effort!
Roche goes onto win the Tour and is still the only Irish winner (never had a British winner)

Suggestions for re-framing my Bomb-Hugger, by pastiepie on Jan 10, 2007 0:42:26 GMT 1, I'd say Jan is past his peak. His best chance at a 2nd victory was definitely last year because T-Mobile had such a strong team. I'm hoping Vinokourov can win this year, although anyone that isn't American would be fine by me.

Suggestions for re-framing my Bomb-Hugger, by mido on Jan 10, 2007 3:51:14 GMT 1, I think we need a cycling thread (alongside the footy thread maybe?)
I have far less interest now. all gone down hill since Big Mig. I did love Graham Obree on the track though. and pantani made it interesting for a while, but god knows what he might have been on.

Suggestions for re-framing my Bomb-Hugger, by yojimbo on Jan 10, 2007 14:29:27 GMT 1, Haha, I love cycling too, Abdoujaparov was a nutter.
The Roche comeback was a classic from my childhood. I actually thought Landis' attack this year was one of the best stages I had ever seen, incredible comeback, reminiscent of Merkx's lone attacks, but obviously rather devalued now. Some of Armstrong's mountain rides were masterful, I thought the Alp d'Huez time trial a couple of years back was a classic.
For what its worth I think Basso will walk it this year. The wholesport looks rather sad at the moment though.
Ok I'll shut up now, send me to the cycling thread.

Suggestions for re-framing my Bomb-Hugger, by headphonesex on Jan 10, 2007 14:42:51 GMT 1, Yes I must admit i'm a bit off cycling nowadays... for a start we don't get the great Channel 4 coverage with Gary Imlach... but also no Taskent Terror, no Pantani, no Cippolini, no Pedro Delgado, no Indurain..... and though it's clearly physically impossible to compete in the race without drugs, having Landis disqualified last year really made the whole thing a farce
:-(

Suggestions for re-framing my Bomb-Hugger, by danvnuk on Jan 10, 2007 18:05:59 GMT 1, Dear oh dear - I start a thread, come back and see 26 posts -
Im thinking its been a positive hive of activity for suggestions on how to frame my print.......
Then, my face drops as I see 20 posts on push bikes and a poncey French (of all things) cycle race.
Oh, the inhumanity! <strikes dramatic pose>
