frame pricing....help!, by angryboy on May 15, 2008 17:46:02 GMT 1, I reckon you're looking at around £200.
A recent 38" x 25" (with a 4cm border) I had framed would have been £189 with UV/non-reflective glass in.

frame pricing....help!, by romanywg on May 15, 2008 20:42:11 GMT 1, I must be going to the wrong place. Just spent over £4000 to get 8 pictures framed! Museum quality though and some with frames within frames.

Hell no
Two totally different types of glass IMO
You will pay a lot of money for Museum glass but for the quality and peace of mind, divide the cost of the glass over the years of enjoyment and it's cost is easier to swallow

I saw a sample at a framer I visited with three different types of glass. The non reflective one had almost NO reflection of light etc in it. And the regular UV one had lots. I would have gone for it if I could afford, but freakin expencive!

Ah, John Jones I guess. after 6 years I've stopped using them. The rest of the framing industry seems to have caught up (to archive grade at least) for a fraction of the price. And they messed up my last 2 jobs and made me feel like a naughty and ignorant school boy for complaining.
Mr Frameman all the way now. I've just had 7 pieces done by them. Top quality and you'll get change out of £200 (i hope Gary doesn't mind me saying that!)

frame pricing....help!, by grantb on May 15, 2008 21:47:22 GMT 1, i think you lot will be very surprised for how much i have paied but lets see how it turns out.
OK JUST TO CLARIFY
non reflective glass is glass where it doesnt shine the light off and then doesnt leave you standing there being able to see everything surrounded around in the room. example your mobile phone. this glass doenst have the protection like UV does
UV glass is where the glass acts a form of protection from light. it will protect your art work for a verly long priod of time. how ever this glass will reflect the light.
NON REFLECTIVE UV glass is basically the above both combined so it leaves your print well protected and wont reflect any light.
MUSEUM GLASS costs an arm and a leg. its is the best quality glass out there and will protect your print for hundreds of years.
i think thats right by my knowledge.
