Framing Quandrie "Low Value" Framing ?, by njr911 on Sept 20, 2008 14:56:33 GMT 1, So the NY Faile and Signied Banksy's go off to Mr Frameman BUT
how does everyone frame the "lower" values stuff ?
Momento Mori, US Trollies etc....under £1k stuff ?
My local framer will frame stuff up, conservation, UV glass in plain white frames for ~£80 but isn't really ised to this sort of stuff.
or Chuck it in a Habitat Bacall frame (the glass sandwich) for £30ish...
Hhmn dilemmas!

Framing Quandrie "Low Value" Framing ?, by Wearology on Sept 20, 2008 16:01:51 GMT 1, I was just thinking out loud to stimulate some conversation - Temptation is a strong motivator - I have no idea what Banksy's thoughts or motivations are and personally I don't really care - he or she or they want to be anonymous and I respect their wishes. I regret making the post - as for the statement that I have exposed myself for who I truly am - that's pretty bold - my only purpose on this forum is to converse with fellow Banksy enthusiasts - I do not like to engage in verbal jousts with complete strangers - sorry Borat if I struck a nerve - maybe your banana bikini is too tight

Framing Quandrie "Low Value" Framing ?, by G-Man on Sept 20, 2008 16:08:37 GMT 1, I use frameexpress.net for mine
You have to get the measurements exactly right but the prices and quality are good
I used these for my Eine Love print and my unsigned trolleys

Hhmn dilemmas! If its worth framing, its worth framing right. I have a few pieces where the framing cost as much if not more than the piece. A quality frame is worth paying for and will protect and show off your piece long after a cheapo has cracked disintegrated and ruined that lovely print by A.N Other that was £15 when you bought it and now commands several thousands a piece.........

Could not agree more, I've got sub £50 in full conservation frames, I'm sure others will not agree. With framing I'm in a lucky position

With framing I'm in a lucky position £30 steadman in a £80 full con frame. Cheap framing as a stop gap is fine, but if you respect your prints, at least respect them enough to get framed propperly, a cheap frame can do more damage to a print than keeping it rolled in a tube due to the adhesives and stabilising chemicals in cheap backing board and mounts, UV damage from cheap glass, fading, heat and damp issues from a non protective frame in a centrally heated house. At least in a tube in a cupboard its in a stable environment and out of the sun.
