Hanging an unusual medium!, by Standard on Dec 3, 2008 19:44:03 GMT 1, I want to display a piece which is on stone/slab and was initially thinking of 4 rubber coated pins to hold it in tight. Unfortunately I thought of these but haven't the slightest clue where to get such things.
I don't really want any metal clasping over the piece, does anyone have any ideas on what I could use?
(btw I'm ready for any alternative reply to the title ;D)

Hanging an unusual medium!, by Standard on Dec 3, 2008 21:11:04 GMT 1, Not yet, need to settle before I get my mitts on her. I wouldn't want this in a frame, straight up as it is - it will work a treat in the room, I just need to figure how?

Hanging an unusual medium!, by Gentry on Dec 4, 2008 14:03:35 GMT 1, I bought the other C215 from romanywg. It's currently sitting on the mantlepiece with blutack to keep it in place. There's of course always a worry that it might slip, so I was thinking about framing it too.
Would be interested to see those Habitat frames. I also had a think about some kind of clip-ins from the front...

Hanging an unusual medium!, by Heavyconsumer on Dec 4, 2008 14:40:26 GMT 1, What about those things that hold ornamental plates upright. They're made of a sort of thick, plastic coated, wire frame and may provide you with the required stability to have the tile upstanding on a small shelf. Or there are also similar products available for hanging ornamental plates on walls. Fire off an email to gary@photographyframing.co.uk (I think that's Mr Frameman's email address). See what he suggests, or posting on Dale's thread is probably the best idea: banksyforum.proboards82.com/index.cgi?board=misterframeman&action=display&thread=16344 It may take a while but he does eventually pop in and answer any new questions.

Hanging an unusual medium!, by Standard on Dec 5, 2008 22:07:39 GMT 1, I have been mucking around with a few frame ideas on eframe and will probably get it framed now I have seen it in a few examples. It will be going next top a big piece so will probably mount it onto white board with a white simple deep square frame. Not sure how to attach it to the board yet but will probably go the eframe route and do it myself, unless the MFM/framers are reasonably cheap. i just need to wait until the next paycheck comes in to get hold of it and get the piece on the wall!
hero_ can't find the reference to bluetack! does it satin marble?
BTW gentry - nice pick up, any pics of the underside? pm if you like.

Hanging an unusual medium!, by Gentry on Dec 7, 2008 18:38:55 GMT 1, Cheers for the info all, I have taken the blutack off and luckily it hasn't marked it. A good one to remember for the future too.
I'm going to look for a perspex block with a slot so it looks like it's floating.

Hanging an unusual medium!, by Standard on Dec 7, 2008 19:01:39 GMT 1, Perspex box sounds good. This is what I'm thinking, mounted inside a frame without glass. as long as the tile has some kind of seal on then it should be ok, otherwise I may have to get it done.
