frame and hanging help!, by rusty1986 on Jun 11, 2007 13:41:55 GMT 1, at the risk of sounding like an idiot, how do you hang frames?! like just hammer a nail in the wall and go for it? are frames supplied with everthing you need to hang them? and wat are those stupid wee loopy things you get with some frames that are really awkward to get in? what are good frames that you can buy for around £30? i will obviously get my banksy's pro framed, but for things like my bast and unsigned failes whats the best course of action?
i bought a few 3£ frames from ikea just to flatten out some of my cheaper prints, and tried hanging them but it looked a mess and nothing like the quality you see in the get your banksy's out gallery...
advice and sympathy would be appreciated, assume i know nothing! cuz i dont!

If I could offer any advice It would be spend as much as you can afford on your framing, In the past I have skrimped and saved... ( Being a Northerner as Nuart keeps kindly pointing out ) and found I now regret it, and wish I had spent a little more. the joys of hindsight

ahahhahahahhahahahhahahahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahah
to hang my prints I use a big rawl plug like this:
For £30 you are never gonna get the quality you desire, habitat is probably your best bet. I have mine framed properly when I can afford it and in the meantime they go in habitat frames as it's better than a folder under the bed.
"stupid wee loopy things" I have no clue what they are, they sound good though.

frame and hanging help!, by Mister Frame Man on Jun 11, 2007 22:39:56 GMT 1, Buying frames from the likes of Ikea, habitat or any other ready made frame in fact, is fine if your print is 60x80cm, 50x70cm or 70x100cm! However, prints never are. If you have cheaper prints that you want to put in a frame either to protect them or because you love them, then drop me a pm. I can make you any size frame with full hanging kit and as much advice as you need. Any specially made frame around 60x80cm in size, allowing up to 10cm either way could be done for as little as £30! Around 50x60cm - £20! These prices are for basic frames with glass, board and hanging kits, but they do their job and fit your print!
