Dry Mount Question, by Lord Lucas Roham on Nov 5, 2007 21:25:38 GMT 1, Looking at my receipt for my Morons I got framed and I noticed that its not been dry mounted.
Is this a good thing? I am worried that they have used some sort of adhesive to stick my print to the frame.
Can you tell from the pics how this has been framed?
Cheers

Dry Mount Question, by spirit on Nov 5, 2007 22:09:02 GMT 1, If it's not been dry mounted that is GOOD
Dry Mounting is BAD
I guess it could have been glued or something but by the looks of things your framer knew what he was doing so it's probably fine. Looks great!

Dry Mount Question, by slacker on Nov 7, 2007 1:02:36 GMT 1,
have a look on the web. basically if it has been dry mounted then it has been glued to the backboard. not at all as it sounds really.
if it hasn't been dry mounted then you should be pleased about that.

Dry Mount Question, by pastiepie on Nov 8, 2007 3:41:10 GMT 1, From my experience most framers will not dry mount a limited edition print, especially a signed Banksy. it is a cheaper irreversible process used for cheap uni hall posters, well it should be anyway.
It is possible to spot a conservation standard framing job. With bigger prints you can tell that the top of the print is not stuck down. With your photos its a bit hard to tell but if you look from below up at where the mount begins you should be able to see a bit of a gap.
